Out of 9 classes, I failed 1, 'credited no pass' on 2, and passed 6.
Normally that would be no problem, but because two of the classes I passed didn't go towards my GPA, the F and credited no passes dragged it down enough to be just below the requirement.

Lolwut, in my school they let you (force you, rather) to re-take the module so you finish by the designated 3 years.
Couldn't you ask them to let you take the modules in the second half? Then add it on to your GPA when you retake the exams that correspond to the modules that you took in the first two quarters. You'd still have half a year with nothing scheduled in it, but maybe you'd have something to use the time for by then.

I got kicked out of school halfway through my senior year. They told me it was mathematically impossible to pass my classes, i showed them that it wasn't. i got fired from my front office job at the school earlier that day for "taking pictures of students files with social security numbers and putting them on facebook", then the principals and counselors were telling faculty that they saw me and someone who i haven't been friends with in a year and a half walk out to the parking lot and smoke a joint. which is dumb not only because i haven't hung out with him in so long, but also because neither of us can roll blunts... lol. i'm also really close to my art teacher and she was telling me that she heard i was selling drugs and stuff around the school from the faculty. sent me to the alternative campus and wouldn't let me graduate with my own class. didn't keep me out of the class favorites dance and prom, though, and i definitely had more fun than anyone else there, kind of in spite haha.

Meh. I humiliated teachers plenty. Passed without trying much to their frustration. Made a quite hilarious deal with my precalc teacher my junior year that if i could pass all the tests without doing homework, it would not affect my grade thanks for the easier than normal B+ teach.
Those were good times. Only in small towns can one pull of that pomegranate.

Honestly, I've really got no idea what to do for the next year now. Should I take classes somewhere else in the meantime or just take a year off and go find stuff or something?
I mean, sure I want to go back but I don't know what I want to go back to doing. I don't even know what I want to study anymore.

Man that's retarded. You aren't doing well in school, according to them.... so their solution is to keep you AWAY from school so that you have time to forget more of what you've learned? If anything they should be forcing you to stay for another 2 hours or something trying to actually learn something.
Do not just lounge around. it'll end up being worse when you get back. Take a class somewhere if possible. If not, get study guides for said classes. i.e. *insert class here* for dummies, A review of *insert class here*
Then when you get back, show them that it was stupid to kick you out.

as far as the thread goes, you gotta do what you gotta do. And telling us to leave our lives out of it and then asking for advice is a really bizarre notion.
Whatever you do though, do something. Doing nothing is a horrible horrible trap, don't get caught in it.

Take classes part time. Assuming the problem is the workload and not the studying/work ethic part, then part time classes are the way to go. Taking 5-6 classes per semester that require 3-4 hours of readings each per week is simply not reasonable, and its no wonder so many students end up doing poorly or skip readings and homework (Yes, a lot of that is due to having a social life and partying as well, but even if you tried to do everything, you'd just end up making yourself miserable).
What I've always done is take quality over quantity. I'm required to take 33 credits a semester (roughly 6-7 courses per semester, as some courses span two semesters), but what I've done the last two years is take closer to 24/27 credits by taking one or two courses in the summer. That way, my workload during the year is reasonable, and I'm not stuck wondering what to do in the summer either.
And if you don't like what you're doing now, quit. Find something else. Honestly, if you're being probation'd 1 year into University and have no motivation to go on in this certain field, you're basically screwed already. 2nd year isn't getting any easier. Neither is 3rd or 4th year. If you're struggling through first year already, then what makes you think you'll pass the next bunch? Find what you want to do, take a few courses on it now before they let you back in (or start over at a different school), and go from there. And don't overload yourself. I'm not sure what the requirements are at your school, but at mine, full time = 60% of required credits per year (so in my case, 60% of 30, or 18), so you can still go to school full time without taking the full load. It's better to do well in 5 years than to do crap in 4 to graduate, least that's my opinion.

My school is based in a quarterly system with 3-4 classes per 3 months. My problem wasn't so much the workload or studying, I was doing good with my homework and projects. It was the exams that pretty much messed me up. I'm like one of those sods that can't focus for crap on tests, regardless if how much studying was done before.
I'm probably going to take classes I guess, but at the same time I want to take time off just to figure out what I want to do personally and not just based on an academic perspective. I actually started school a year before I should have (at 17), so maybe I wasn't mentally ready for it. I dunno, lol.

Totally with you dude. I learn extremely well by DOING things instead of listening and studying via lecture. I can ace any lab or field experiment or homework and completely bomb (ok not bombing, but like coming out to about a C) the class because of the exams. I think it's because i don't know what to study so i try to study everything i possibly can, resulting in me understanding enough to get pity points for all the questions, but never the whole thing. It's frustrating especially when you KNOW you can do all those things in practice. And because of that tendency, I now have a sub-par GPA (i'm trying to get into the 3.0 range right now, which would require i start getting B's and up in all my classes ><" )
As per your predicament, I'd say find a small part time job and take a couple of courses at the local CC. Keep your material fresh in your mind, while making bank.
