The third update in Chaos opened on July 20, 2011, with PvP making its entrance into MapleStory! Fight fellow Maplers in Battle Mode to earn EXP, Battle Points, and bragging rights! Trade in Battle Points for Gallant Emblems which can be exchanged for Battle Mode items, and more!

The Ice Knight arrives on July 27, 2011! Upon entering Ice Knight mode, one player will be chosen at random to be the Ice Knight. If you are chosen as the Ice Knight, you will be given immense power. The remaining players will have to combine their strength, band together and share HP & MP pots to take on the Ice Knight. If after 10 minutes the Ice Knight still lives, then you have failed.
