The Golden Pickaxe is harder to obtain, but I feel that the Swift Wrench is better?

Mining Skill +1 lowers the rate of failure.
Max drops gives you more ores for your fatigue.
They're both essentially fatigue savers. It's up to you whichever you prefer.

The event golden pickaxe has more dura, but it can't be repaired.
IMO, go with the swift wrench, it's better, especially at high levels of mining.

Unfortunately, players are only allowed to use one mining tool at a time.

I have a Swift Wrench that says +130% harvesting speed, so you must be confused about something else.
