Best professions? - Saar331 - 2011-07-14 Hi guys, havent played for a really long time, hello to those who remember me xd i wonder.. which is the best prof. combo? since i dont know anything about professions Herbalism + Alchemy ? Mining + Smithing ? Mining + Accesory Crafting ? Best professions? - Phoenix Wright - 2011-07-14 All the individual professions have their merits. It's hard to say that one is better than the other... Best professions? - Sorien - 2011-07-14 I say Herbalism + Alchemy is the best combo. Herbalists get easy Empathy, and thus have more MP and better quest exp rewards than other players. Additionally Alchemists are the only people who can extract Item Crystals from equips without the use of an extractor, and they can fuse items together for a good chance at getting potential on them. Fused items also seem to get better potential stats for some reason as well, so fusion is a great way of getting rid of all the random equip drops while also netting a decent profit if the user is lucky. Best professions? - Alex123123 - 2011-07-14 Craft earrings/belts and reveal potentials -> Fuse the ones without potential -> Fuse the ones with potential for moar potential in your potential = profit? The only downside is that with a 4 slot storage, it takes a while to do all the transferring. About smith, I haven't been able to play a lot with it because of the quantity of materials the armors need. Imo, jewel crafting at least haves the advantage of having low material equips you can craft and then extract for advanced+ item crystals. So eh, imo, jewel crafting and alchemy gets the cake for now. I'll get back here once I start playing with smithing. Best professions? - Liteness - 2011-07-14 why not just make all of them? Best professions? - Stereo - 2011-07-14 Alchemy and jewelry seem much better than smithing so far. Maybe cause in level 1-6 you can't smith anything useful... In the long run overall equips/gear (smithing) are cheaper typically than accessories (jewelry), too. The potential for profit is a bit higher with jewelry. Best professions? - CarrionCrow - 2011-07-14 You need easy access to all of them if you want to make the most use of the system, so preferably you make use of mules too. Blacksmithing seems the least important unless you are an archer and want a 100% sure source for the best arrows. Alchemy + herbalism, like others have said, gives the maximum amount of all around trait growth, and looks to be like the most profitable proffession. Best professions? - Veneni - 2011-07-14 Alchemy seems most usefull IMO since it helps in alot of situations: pots for training, attk pots, +maxhp pots etc. not to mention the fusing and disassembling. Blacksmith > jeweler IMO. I dunno I feel like jeweler seems good for a few items, which are accessories AKA nonvital items you can perfectly go without. Meanwhile blacksmith makes vital items like weapons and the extra android is kinda cool. Best professions? - Okiesmokie - 2011-07-14 Isn't blacksmithing the only profession that gets an actual stat bonus from it? (In the form of scrolled android hearts) As far as I can see, everything crafted from the other professions can be traded and they have no real "only jewelcrafter/alchemist bonuses" Best professions? - CarrionCrow - 2011-07-14 Okiesmokie Wrote:Isn't blacksmithing the only profession that gets an actual stat bonus from it? (In the form of scrolled android hearts) Androids are in no way limited to blacksmiths other than the actual creation. Best professions? - IceCorp - 2011-07-14 No votes for smithing? Best professions? - Berzerk - 2011-07-14 Mining + Accessory Crafting is for those that wish to make money, Mining + Smithing is for those who want to save money by making their equips, and Herbalism + Alchemy is for the lul. Best professions? - Raul - 2011-07-17 Smithing is really nice because almost literally everything comes out potentialed. I've gotten some nice %primary stat equips. Alchemy lets you fuse, but in my experience, gives you less chance to get pot. Jewelry is just amazing. 'nuff said. Best professions? - Punch - 2011-07-17 Can't you just do like.. all those combos on three different characters? Your Main, Profit Combo Your Alternate/Mule, Equips Combo Your Mule, Other

Best professions? - Bloodjedi - 2011-07-17 I have all on 3 characters. I like Acc crafting due to the fact that all acc are quite rare. Also xfer my crafts to an alchemist for fuse/extraction, same with my smither Best professions? - Viaje - 2011-07-17 Alex123123 Wrote:The only downside is that with a 4 slot storage, it takes a while to do all the transferring.I had planned to do it with the 10 Maplepoints I'll eventually get from the marathon event, but I got so frustrated with transferring that I MTS'd a 10 atk WG just to buy extra slots. 6.4k for 8 extra slots isn't a bad deal at all. As for the question at hand, I went with all three. I think that, for the most part, the potions from Alchemy are absolutely useless. The only thing I really like it for is the fusing. Of course, that's a bit misleading since I think fusing items is absolutely amazing. Fusing makes for a very easy method of leveling the skill and has so far netted me plenty of low-leveled %-stat items. However, it won't find its true usefulness until I have easy access to high level equips. That leads me to Smithing. The attraction of this profession lies in the fact that it will allow me to make any third-tier equipment I want (though there are no color options, which is sad). This means I can easily mass-produce equipment with Potential on it and transfer them over to my Alchemist to fuse my way to Unique equipment. As I haven't invested much into my equipment, I can easily boost my damage this way. Sadly, maining a warrior, I won't be able to make third-tier tops and bottoms with an 100% success rate until I have level 6 Smithing. Then again, making arrows provides a brilliantly simple method of leveling up. Jeweling was originally the most attractive profession to me for what may be an obvious reason. Basically, it would allow me to fill in the gaps in my equipment and upgrade items that were previously too costly to upgrade. Once I have a high enough level, I'll be able to make Shoulderpads, Belts, and Face Accessories - all equipment types that most of my characters don't have. So my advice would definitely be to buy some extra storage space and work on all three. The only downside to this method I've found is keeping track of what materials need to be where. |
