As a last resort. Don't put their names on them. If they are being a pimentos to you then be a pimento to them and let them fail.
No effort, No work. They deserve to fail.

I have dealt with idiots who were done with their part of the project who don't send it to me. They send it to me 15 minutes before it is due. The designer of the project leaves an entire slide show/magazine completely white background. We got a D that project -_- and I lost my B+ for the yr in that class.
To get ahead sometimes you have to be an ass to people. Because the Right way to things only works when they are mature enough to care.
If they are friends. Work with people that will actually work or are intimidated by you.

Stop doing works with that group? Sometimes it's better to do those with people you don't know too much but you know are good workers.

Problem is that they're the social kids, they have lots of influence over the rest of the class.
It's not possible to stop doing work with that group. The teacher assigns things, refuses to help with things, and only offers 'learn to work with other people'.

There's an abusable peer evaluation sustem that results in deduction of marks. Saying pineapple you to them isn't ever going to be effective, they'll just assign zeros.

Every single group I have ever been a part of throughout my entire school experience was horrible. These are the people that are in the same generation as I am, these are the people I will be working with later in life. My online Group Dynamics class (which, by the way, LOL), was just me working on all the projects alone, because everyone else dropped the course in the second week. And then the teacher got mad at me for never posting in the group discussion forum, when there was literally no one else in the entire class, much less my group, to talk with. I saw the roster, I was the only person still taking the course and the teacher even admitted it. Groups in middle/high school were never much better than that; the other members might as well not have been there, for all the work they were doing.
My suggestion is get used to it or don't get a job that involves any human interaction, because you will have to deal with it eventually otherwise, and its never a good experience.

Only time I actually like group work is for my art classes,because people actually share their ideas lol.
Highschool stuff was terrible though. When I was placed in a group like that, I just completed/understood my part, and when presentation time came,I was the only one that didn't look like an idiot.

I hate group work. Absolutely hate it. I'd have to say within my first year of college, we did a crap ton of it and I did most of the work because of one reason: whatever they did, I didn't want to put my name on it because it wasn't up to my standards. I know that sounds horrible, but some things (especially projects regarding my major) I want to be of a really high standard, because I'll be showing my employers what I did in my first year to get my job I'll be in for (hopefully) 10+ years. I partially believe it was like this because there were all introductory classes and people might not be putting as much effort into something they might not continue.
