Outlaw equips and general scrolling questions - nicoga3000 - 2011-07-06

So I'm a 105 Outlaw trying to become anti-suck. First off, my current equips and stats (click the zoom button):

I've got no idea what to upgrade or HOW to upgrade it. I know that sounds really weak, but hear me out...My boots for example. Say I was going to replace my boots. What sort of scrolling would I even start with there? In general, I'm not sure what the best options for scrolling are. It's sad, yeah, but meh. Tongue

Also, you can see my glove has a star...I have no idea what that even means. I bought that from someone, haha. I just liked that it was 3-lined and wasn't COMPLETE poo (I'm pretty sure it was cheap, too). And for potential - can you get a 2-line into a 3-line, or are you stuck with it once it's there? Oh, and is there a way to NOT use up slots when trying to apply a scroll?

Sorry for the incredibly noob questions, but I think I should start looking at how to improve my gear so I can not be a bad. I've got some extra NX on my account and a good amount of mesos, so if I need to go shopping, I can. Smile Thanks for any and all help! Biggrin

Helm: Get a czak helm as suggested before. I forget... is that lvl 100.... or 110.
Glove: Fine for now
Belt: immortal pharoah belt (2 or 3 lines doesn't matter due to premium cubes, then cube it to 3% dex, minimum)
shoes: hardest to upgrade at the moment. Settle for shoes with some dex potential, like a 10 dex 5 dex lined one or a 3% dex one)
cape: Buy one that's scrolled for dex or has more attack, then cube it to 3%.
Earrings: Either red rex for the 10% hp and 3 str/dex or get lvl 71+ earrings and cube em to 3% dex and toss earring dex scrolls on it.
Overall: Find a nice lvl 71+ overall and get 3% dex on that, at least. Heck even tossing 100%s on the overall will get you more dex than before and allow you the possibility of an easy 3+% dex.
Gun: scroll that sucker with 60s for now if that's not gonna be your last weapon and you haven't invested much into it.

1. you can make 2lined items 3lined using super cubes which are 3.1k nx.
2. you can use pams song(11-15k nx) or white scrolls ( 200mil or so in Kradia) to prevent a slot being used when a scroll fails.

I would first get an idea of what armor and weapon you want to wear.

I would also wait to upgrade at lvl 120, to have access to the HT pendant and highest/attainable lvl guns. Get all the STR necessary from Pendant + Helm + other crappy common equipment until you can wear your equipment of choice. Get nice Gun, get decent ATT potential class glove (or a nice WG), work on armor + potential. Slowly replace equipment that haves STR with DEX if you have an excess of STR. Etcetc.

The order depends on your funding/availability of NX. If you have NX up to your nose, you can easily start with the armor. If you don't have NX and do not have mesos up your nose, armor potential will probably be one of the last things on your list due to how expensive it is to get a single piece of armor with >3% stat.

Also, have in mind that professions is right around the corner and plan accordingly. And most importantly, be damn sure that you want your Outlaw to be your main character.

I definitely want to main a Corsair. Smile The ship + crazy DPS is really fun. I'm always about ranged/magic classes, and I feel like Corsairs are moderately underplayed. But as it stands, I'll start thinking about this stuff for sure, thanks.

The one thing I'm still a bit confused on is the "optimal order" on potential/scrolling/enhancement? Also, can you protect failure for enhancement scrolling??
