How are stats factored into PvP? - Moonlapse - 2011-06-20 How are stats like w attack, your primary stat, defense, etc factored into how much damage you deal? I can't really figure this out because damage in PvP is expressed in "cools" and "awesomes". How are stats factored into PvP? - White - 2011-06-20 I'd like to know this too. I'll be quite disappointed if stats don't affect performance at all. Very disappointed. How are stats factored into PvP? - Locked - 2011-06-21 They do nothing. There was no difference in the time it took to kill me with 99999 HP or 6000 HP. There was no difference in how many times I took down their HP as a Shadower with 999 all Stat or 600 LUK. How are stats factored into PvP? - Xephia - 2011-06-21 Is that completely right? Iirc, there's a "No Potential" PvP room. If that's true, what would be the point of it? How are stats factored into PvP? - Grey - 2011-06-21 They're all no potential except the 180+ room. How are stats factored into PvP? - Xephia - 2011-06-21 In that case I'll reverse the question: What would be the point of a potential room if they have no effect on stats? How are stats factored into PvP? - Takebacker - 2011-06-21 What? Potential has effect on stats. Assuming PvP forces everyone down to the same level, that means including potential would just be a d'ick stroking contest. How are stats factored into PvP? - Grey - 2011-06-21 Well, I would guess that stats play a part in the non-potential room, however, I'm pretty sure no one in Tespia uses rooms other than the 180+ one, and it looks like they have no effect there. I'm guessing the only way to increase your damage is with +PvP Damage equips. How are stats factored into PvP? - Takebacker - 2011-06-21 I've only used the 120+ room so far. If there's a room no one uses, it's the 180+ room, which baffles me. How are stats factored into PvP? - Dark Link - 2011-06-21 White Wrote:I'd like to know this too. I'll be quite disappointed if stats don't affect performance at all. Very disappointed. Why? If anything that's a good thing. Makes the fight less one-sided and more balanced, regardless of how slim the balance actually is lol How are stats factored into PvP? - Takebacker - 2011-06-21 13x mages should NEVER EVER be on even ground with 180+ characters (and by that i mean literally every class, because mages are THAT OP) for any reason. I'm with white on this. I'm with white on this. Wait, mages really are OP in pvp?... O.o What reasons give tespia players this impression? *Read it a few times before on basil* How are stats factored into PvP? - Chilly - 2011-06-21 Abysseon Wrote:Wait, mages really are OP in pvp?... Basil's Tespia section also has more detailed observations from folks, I'll try to dredge some of the less "My class bettah" threads up for you. How are stats factored into PvP? - Takebacker - 2011-06-21 I don't even think i can OHKO a mage with demolition when they don't have magic guard. (which is kind of irrelevant since everyone recasts buffs in the safe area anyway) How are stats factored into PvP? - White - 2011-06-21 Dark Link Wrote:Why? If anything that's a good thing. Makes the fight less one-sided and more balanced, regardless of how slim the balance actually is lol Because if everything is standardized, that means that some classes may, and will (because this is nexon and they can't balance a scale with four pennies on each side), have a significant advantage based solely on their class choice. If potential plays a role and highly scrolled gear, then that adapts with the players. If players spend more on the game to get an advantage in the main areas of the game, why shouldn't they get the same, yet scaled down a bit, advantage in pvp? This, obviously, is the argument of someone that has good gear and is in the minority. I worked hard for my gear and I, for obvious reasons, want the benefits of that gear. I worked hard for my gear and I, for obvious reasons, want the benefits of that gear. As do i. However, i realize that even if you're godly you can still be thoroughly raped by freeze/paralyze/seal/stun/slow/large as f'uck range. You at least have more range and a lot more hits per second than i do. >_> How are stats factored into PvP? - JPTheMonkey - 2011-06-21 PVP seemed more based on skill and luck. I was winning lots of matches in first by playing with more skills on my hero than just Intrepid Slash. Threw in some Shouts for (terrible range) Stuns and Panic/Coma for their side effects and great damage. The only really problematic class would have been the mech(s). The mages I fought were fairly easy seeing as they just stood there spamming CL (all I fought were I/Ls) and no tele-ing except when they thought "Oh crap, I might just die!". At that point a well placed Monster Magnet would foil their plans nicely. How are stats factored into PvP? - White - 2011-06-21 Takebacker Wrote:As do i. I resorted to using strafe to just try and do damage. Best i've managed is 3rd place in a pvp, but I only did like 4-5 before I got locked out. None of them I was in there for the whole time either. Monster magnet is op. How are stats factored into PvP? - Takebacker - 2011-06-21 Are you serious? In that case there must be that delay between attacks that PvP was rumored to have, which literally throws control right out the window and onto a spike bed. I probably still have to see what it's going to be like in official, but it's safe to say i am extremely disappoint. I'm just going to get enough emblems for my shoulderpad and never touch PvP again, which is sad. How are stats factored into PvP? - Satellite - 2011-06-21 White Wrote:I'd like to know this too. Godly damage in MS is usually gained with NX or illegit mesos nowadays. |
