I used this catchy title because I know there's a lot of disprovers ready to pounce, though it isn't exactly misleading. But this isn't about the rapture, it's about (mainly) american culture.
I was in a military family so I have been exposed to culture outside of the united states, meh about half my life roughly. I am by no endorsing america as the best country in the world, but throughout my life I have experienced essentially the freedo--, wait, more like, free oppurtunities that we have been able to abuse in order to survive.
I'll admit, I'm pretty angry, frustrated, even disgusted about this, fitting for an angrydome thread, but I want to hear your input, and perhaps educate to me something I'm not aware of, as my faith/confidence, to any organization that is supposed to lead, shatters like peanut brittle. But it isn't about government conspiracies, or irrational standards some individuals hold to them, but mainly the people who seem to..feel entitled to have everything given to them.
I work in a job where we serve the people, but everyday I question if I even want to serve the people. I was going to join the military, for this purpose, but I was franly to scared to just flat out go to war. I could handle the treatment, but killing a man, I honestly don't believe I could conciously do. But these people, even military members, proving to me that the, at least Americans, have lost this sense of work.
I don't know if you all can see this happening, as in the American public, but I feel like this crisis climax's are actually intentional. Obama can't really do anything clean cut to fix them that won't take time, and it feels like he's trying to take advantage of these "crisis'" to essentially distract the public from civil rights being violated, or flat out being con'd. A scary though that lies in the back of my head is that, if the economy crashes, and believe you me, it will be in our lifetime if it so happens, the government has the right to steal our 401k investments to restimulate it.
Things like this, clearly sets up for a government revamp, sanctioned by the very leaders, or..by civil war. The civil war will be between the "Have's", who earned their place, to the have not's, which generally speaking, the liberals constantly feed. These people irk the pineapple out of me. It's the lower 20% of the population who believe that government stimulate packages should be obligated, that the rich should give to the poor, but not just the poor, just the flat out lazy. For example, there's a county in maryland called montgomery county, it receives a yearly bonus check if your income is under a certain bracket. We match about 70% of your earned income credit, which is called the MG county credit. The county wasn't sure if they were able to afford to do this year, and we let out letters stating so, and it hasnt been determined yet. We had people walk into the local county office, litterally screaming how they need that money, and it isnt fair. Keep in mind, the only county that gets this is montgomery, out of the dozen available. In fact it got so bad, that there was an email sent out they had to shut off the phones because it was just irrational taxpayers harrassing the employees, who don't even determine this. It's the circuit court, who doesn't give out their number for this reason.
Am I the only one annoyed about this? I mean, sure I work in an enviroment where it's more common, but let me give you another example, that is more daily, and what YOU have had experienced. I went to the movies and there was this african american, mid 20's basically, stereoytypical ignorant, screaming at the manager of the move theater, I'm talking inch away from his face. The man has like a 4 year old in his arms, while 3 other of his kids are running around, to the point where the kid ran into this girl, knocking her down. The man screaming, didn't even acknowledge this, in fact screamed "YOU DUMB NGR STOP HORSIN AROUND", to maybe an 8 year old. The whole ordeal? He had to purchase something in order to benefit off some offer the movie theater gives. His problem? He believes he was scammed because no one reads the back of the tickets, therefore he possibly couldn't be informed of the circumstances, thus making him pay the full price, or leave, which is a waste of a trip.
I saw an interview the other day about college students, endorsing socialism, that everyone deserves a fair share, and that the amount of money someone accumulates, such as the 100k range, can afford to give some away. After, with no hesistation, agreed that it's fair, were then questioned "Well what if you got an A, and your friend gets an F, we don't want anyone to fail, so we turn your A to a C to pull him up to a D, is that fair". At this point the college student is completely against such principles, also explaining it's different circumstances because they worked for the A, money being different as it's nothing more than a reflection of your paycheck, not effort.
Things like this, they get to me, and I wonder if the true end of the world is when the populace goes so bipolar on these values, that we will kill eachother to keep those principles. The government to support us via feeding tube, or success for those who earn it. Or maybe the great change in the world is when one of these principles finally falls on it's ass so we don't have two far wing nutjobs trying to pull the boat in opposite direction. Or maybe there won't be a leader at all.
What do you think of the future of our world? Maybe your country? Is it bright, or is it bloody.

I see ruin for America honestly. This country is only 200 some-ot years old and it's risen and fallen pretty damn quickly. I mean I hope it lives as long as possible. But it will live without me. As soon as I'm able to financially support myself I will be leaving the country to either one of 3 places. Japan/Australia/Germany. Although Germany is on the top row of where to live and Australia with Japan following behind, I just see no future for this country. I think it's going to last only 200 more or less years and then Die. I don't want my children apart of a dieing country so I'm goign to move out when I get my Business Degree and Major in the languages I choose; which is for another story. I just don't think this country is worth living in if the students don't give a flying f'uck for their education and they disrespect their families. My family will NOT deal with them. Hence why I'm moving. And I see America to die and be destroyed.

It's an effing pain in the arse dealing with retards, but I think that the country always had the same amount of idiots. It's just that idiots are a lot more noticeable now, because of the internet and whatnot. But our country dealt with idiots (some of them, at least) in the past and I don't see why we can't deal with them in the future.
Socialism bothers me a bit. I really want to know how many people living in poverty are there because of uncontrollable circumstances or are there because they are lazy arses.

What about the people who don't even KNOW the potential ways to get out of the lower class? yet want to?
Schools don't teach it (aside economics which, for me, was only a summary that doesn't teach you how to truly do anything) , and if your parents never learned money strategies, because they grew up in a time when 1 full time job was enough to get by. How are most people going to learn?
Everyday on the TV, some people go on blabbing about how you can 'achieve financial freedom' using foreclosure properties or stocks or some other idea. Then the people who go to find out more at their 'free' info-conferences end up finding out they have to pay some extremely high price for information that can ACTUALLY be applied. Then going back and looking at your budget just to realize the 100$ or so you can barely manage to put in the bank a month would take you 3 years or more to actually afford.
I do know there is a lazy group among these poor. but the unfair part is, the middle class and low class are almost already experiencing that 'haves vs. have nots' khainiwest mentioned. Except there's much less disposable income space to take the hit.
Take a good look at section 8 housing for example: are you poor? goverments lifting you up, no worries! Are you TRYING to move up the financial ladder? Break past that specific yearly income and then the government is like 'lolnope, here's a higher tax bracket, there goes the part of the income you make over those poorer than you that could actually put into savings and make progress!'. Everyone's got the whole 'oh the people who earned it should keep it' part down.
Everyone always gets quiet when it comes to the questions of those who's right at that borderline where expenses leave you struggling to make savings. Or the ones who graduated but then later got laid off from their profession, and stuck working crappier jobs while school debts loom over their heads for life. being scoffed at for feeding their kids unhealthily while not realizing HOLY CRAP SODA IS CHEAPER THAN JUICE. Laughing at tv when the president talks about how many new jobs were made: while leaving out just how many of them are part-time and don't provide benefits. Or that some companies idea of 'full time' is 30 hours, and put in every effort to make sure no employee ever gets the opportunity to earn overtime. Or that one new store LITERALLY only provides one FULL-time job, and that's for the manager him or herself.
Then they get loud again when they get to the lazy people who are recieving support and somehow have more disposable income than harder working families. Enjoying cable television and PS3 while living in a crappy apartment.
I'm not saying 'oh lets have the goverment give tons of money away to the middle class too'. I'm just saying, there's a lot of people who just plain have the odds stacked against them in this economy. How much of an effort is -REALLY- being made to teach these people how to make the most of their tax breaks and opportunities without trying to PROFIT off of them? If one doesn't believe that they are; how readily accessible is the information to show these middle class their available options and strategies?
I was lucky enough to have a mom who's trying to look up these things so I can avoid being bogged down in student loan debt for life like her, to teach me to take this time when I'm under their roof to work and save up money to either invest in a market or figure out a business I can get going without a huge investment. I know for a fact though that not everyone will be as fortunate as I was and won't even have these things brought up even as a suggestion (let alone merciful parents that AREN'T trying to kick me out right away). I'm not saying the way you get treated, or the way anyone gets treated over stuff related to money is right. But i honestly don't blame the people you've dealt with for wanting to keep the help they're getting. Even if it keeps their heads from being slightly below water to getting shoulders above.

Problem with Thai people is most of us are used to have a comfortable life.
Thailand barely has any natural disaster that cause catastrophic damage, we have plenty of food, and last war we actually went in was more than two centuries ago. While those things seem great, it creates one thing in people's mind - selfishness. Politicians and bureaucrats corruptions become normal and more acceptable because plenty more they don't corrupt are able to make it to lower class. They forget that's not their money(Government actually bought BlackBerry for every sheriff in the country).
We have to struggle, once in a while, or have a leader that doesn't corrupt the pineapple out of everything and actually do something to the country. I'm not saying that we should have World War every half century, but war gives some benefit to the mankind; it makes people on the same side more united.
As for the rest of the world, I think it's good enough right now.
