With the release of the cannon shooter, it proives my theory! - Random_Overlord - 2011-06-03

^ Sorry 'bout the title, I'm a sloppy typer.

With the recent pre-release of the Cannon shooter in kmst as an adventurer class, it proves my theory that I one made before about Nexon's motives over the entire job system

As I have said in this post from a long time ago: http://www.southperry.net/showthread.php?t=30124&highlight=adventurer

We are still due for more jobs, but that being said, Dual bladers and Cannon shooters are catagoried under their own job branch that I call adventurers V2 which is sort of a single branch from start to finish in one job catagory.

What does this mean? Were still in for another few more adventurer V2 jobs, specificly bowmen, mages and warriors!

And it means I can tell the future like I always said I could! Excellent

This still doesn't prove your theory.

Except the only two classes they added jobs to were branches with only TWO jobs attached to them.
DB was the 3rd job branch to the Thief tree, same with Cannon Shooter to the Pirate tree, and eventually-to-be unannounced 3rd archer job branch to the Archer tree.

Your theory will only be proven once NexonKR adds a 4th branch to Warrior and Mages.

Actually, all that would do is support his theory, not prove it.

The only way his theory could be truly "proven" is if the next eight jobs each fall into the blanks he has presented.
We already know that the Legend Archer is coming as well as the Resistance Warrior, so that leaves six more.

Now, most people (myself included) presume that the other two Legends will fall in as Thieves and Pirates, but I don't believe that's ever officially been stated.

As for everything else, the Job IDs are formatted in a way so that any category (first digit: Legend, Adventurer, Cygnus, Resistance) of any job type (second digit: warrior, archer, mage, pirate, thief) can have up to ten different classes.

There's absolutely nothing stopping them from releasing five more Adventurer Mages, two Pirate Legends, and half a dozen Resistance Archers.

PS. I absolutely LOVE reading these old threads and seeing all of the people who made absolute statements about future classes that were so easily shattered.

"Part of the balancing factor of certain classes is that they have less choice than others." - Fiel
"Resistance + Mechanic + KoC are pretty much settled according to the lore. " - ItzTaylor
"Explorers are pretty much settled." - ItzTaylor
"2.- Resistance will only have 3 jobs!" - Solarboy
"3.- There will be no such thing as adventurers V2 DB was just an event job that was overpowered." - Solarboy
"I agree that the legends will be finished but that is it." - Duelman
"adventurer - done" - Saar331
"resistence - done too, there is no place for the remaining two jobs, its supposed to be like that" - Saar331

The term Adventurer Gaiden has already been coined by me. Try again.

I don't ever remember voting!

My brother calls them "Deluxe Adventurers".
If they are available on a revolving door basis, I'm gonna stick with "Seasonal Adventurers".

Plus, we don't know how far Cannoneers may stray from the main storyline. "Gaiden" may not be appropriate.

It gets used more often than other terms.

Fair enough.

If Dual Blades and Cannon Shooters were part of the regular adventurers grouping they wouldn't have their own class selection window.

Um, who in this thread even said anything along the lines that Cannoners and Dual Bladers were part of regular explorers?

That'd be the OP, right there, bub.

That line doesn't mean he said they were part of regular explorers. Dual Bladers and Cannoners are explorers, in a sense. So what he said was right, and what kimaera was jumping the gun since he never said "Dual Bladers and Cannoners are part of regular explorers".

Hoss.

What bizarre semantic drivel are you trying to argue here?

They're either Adventurers/Explorers or they're not. These are not Schrödinger's Classes. There is no quantum uncertainty principle in effect.

They either conform to the creation, nature and rules of that class system or they don't, and whether or not they have their own class creation screen is irrelevant unless it actually changes how they level up, in which case they're not technically adventurers they just occupy the same root on the class tree.

If that was the point you were trying to make you don't accomplish it by asking unrelated, or vaguely related, questions about semantics; Refutation is done with facts not rhetorics.

If dual blades and cannoneers didn't have their own class selection window less people would make them. Duh.

Pretty sure you're the only one who has approached making this a metaphysical conversation which, I must say, is rather silly considering the conversation is fairly straightforward.

To me, it seems rather unfair to demand that someone present facts over rhetoric after weaving together an argument which lacks the former.

However, if it is facts you want, I will kindly deliver:
- Dual Bladers, in all of their job advancements, have Job IDs that fall within the range that Nexon has set aside for Adventurers and that the game interprets as so.
- Dual Bladers are not created in the same manner as other Adventurers. This not only necessitates the separate creation screen, but makes the separate screen entirely relevant.
- Dual Bladers cannot be made as Ultimate Explorers, separating them from the core classes.
- Dual Bladers can obtain UE skills via quests just like any other Adventurer.
- Dual Bladers level up just like every other Adventurer... and every other class in the game, making this aspect irrelevant.
- Dual Bladers are not perpetually available for creation, while any other Adventurer is.

Not sure what you mean by 'nature' and 'rules', as those are extremely vague terms.
The first point and penultimate are shared by Cannoneers, but I can't verify either way whether the others are true for the newest class.

Overall though, it's perfectly fitting that their be a distinction between core/regular/normal Adventurers and the gaiden/event/special Adventurers just as much as you'd make the distinction between any fictional series and its spin-offs. You're the only one arguing otherwise.

I'm not arguing anything. Metaseraphim was arguing it with kimaera, poorly, and now you're trying to argue a side you've decided I've taken when all I did is tell Meta to more clearly state what his argument is supposed to be if he's going to try to pick one.

Eosian Wrote:I'm not arguing anything.
Really?

"They're either Adventurers/Explorers or they're not." - Bringing up an entirely different issue.

"They either conform to the creation, nature and rules of that class system or they don't, and whether or not they have their own class creation screen is irrelevant unless it actually changes how they level up, in which case they're not technically adventurers they just occupy the same root on the class tree." - Arguing the terms and definitions.

Eosian Wrote:Metaseraphim was arguing it with kimaera, poorly,
Um... no.
MetaSeraphim never posed any sort of argument against Kimaera; in fact, that would be ridiculous since it's quite clear that he totally agrees with what the latter said.
All MetaSeraphim did was point out that Kimaera's post was completely non sequitur.

Eosian Wrote:and now you're trying to argue a side you've decided I've taken when all I did is tell Meta to more clearly state what his argument is supposed to be if he's going to try to pick one.
I decided nothing. You said what you said, after all.

If you believed MetaSeraphim was making a poor case, you could have just said so.
That would have been far more efficient then stomping in here, taking phrases completely out of context, and creating a disagreement where there wasn't one... ya know, like you did.

Meanwhile, Meta's statement was quite clear:
Just because regular Adventurers are Adventurers and Dual Blades are Adventures doesn't mean that Dual Blades are regular Adventurers.
There were no semantics there; it's pure logic.

With the release of the cannon shooter, it proives my theory! - Eos - 2011-06-04

Since this has quite literally turned into an argument over the semantics of an argument over semantics, subject is closed.
We'll call it a misunderstanding, agree to disagree over what who said meant how, and move on.

There's tons of classes they could be making. It's true there are 9 "gaps" of classes, but that doesn't necessairely mean they're going to fill those gaps. Nothing stops them from making a whole new branch of classes with yet another mage. That's what happened with the resistance. Everybody expected them to finish off the legends. And certainly noone predicted them to make another mage, since there were so many mages allready, still they did.
