Anyway, my personal opinion is that there is no one profession that should succeed more than any other. These are made for having fun with, and to make certain tasks easier. Personally, I'm just going to experiment with them all and then pick the ones I want to master first.

I think Miner/Jeweler. The rings and shoulderpads and face acc's and all that amazing stuff I think will sell for more and better than being a standard blacksmith.

The profession system in Maple is poorly designed and not really a great moneymaking tool - there's only 3 of them, and they aren't hard to level. You'll make more selling the materials than anything else, really. Same as with Maker - it's really just a minor time sink that wasn't particularly well thought out and only serves to give players some small self-bonuses. It has very little impact on the structure of the economy.

I guarantee you that Jewelcrafting will be the most sought after profession in the game once it comes out, solely because it just flat out offers better rewards overtime as opposed to Alchemy and Blacksmithing.

My point is that it doesn't matter what profession you choose. It's not like WoW, where your professions are a primary source of income and are only surpassed by smart buying/selling in the AH.

My Paladin is going to be a Blacksmith, since it makes sense that a blacksmith would be able to use hammers.
My Wild Hunter will be an herbalist or something, and I guess that leaves my Spearman or Dawn Warrior to be a jewler.
I'm sure Herbalists would make good money though, since they can make those +2k health potions that any ranged class would kill for.
