Just wondering, as I don't follow international tournaments much, but is this the tournament guys from the nhl play in after they get kicked out of the playoffs or is this something else?

This is what makes world champions. And yes, you are right.

I'm not quite sure why NHL doesn't take a break when there's a world cup on, like they do with winter olympics. Sure, the dumb thing is that theres a world cup EVERY year.

Some players like Teemu Selänne have said that they won't play in World Cup anymore. But between hockey fans in Europe, World Championships are ranked at the top. If Finland wins Sweden in the Final tomorrow, we will celebrate this for the rest of the year. Last time we won was in 1995. We have been in NINE Finals and lost 8 times.

P.S.

NHL is international too if we look at the playerlists (in a way).

There are more players in the NHL that are from the US/Canada than Europe.
