So, I'm picking Global up again. - FoolsLove - 2008-10-04 I need help choosing what character I'll be playing. I have a lv 77 Hermit, and lv 86 Crusader on Broa. Neither are adequately equipped, and have minimal meso (about 1.5m combined). I just bought some NX, and will likely buy more, but I only want to work on one. Basically, which one would be better to play? I like both, so I don't have a preference. It's been a while since I played for more than 30 minutes a month, so I have no idea how training and cost is. So, I'm picking Global up again. - Greg22 - 2008-10-04 What kind of stat build does the Hermit have? What's the Crusader's DEX, and can it hit normal training monsters with it's adequate equipment? What are the skillbuilds of each character? Specifics like these could give me a better idea on which one would be easier for you to pick up on and train faster. So, I'm picking Global up again. - Corn - 2008-10-04 Plus your preferences. Bosses? You like having lots of mesoes? Speed? So, I'm picking Global up again. - FoolsLove - 2008-10-04 Greg Wrote:What kind of stat build does the Hermit have? Last I remember ghost pirates were the training spot for him, and I'm pretty sure he could 100% hit them. ClawofBeta Wrote:Plus your preferences. Bosses? You like having lots of mesoes? Speed?Never been much of a bosser, not without lack of trying, but I was never one to get the most damage on single bosses, never actually got to attempting Zak or anything (seriously, at least). I do, but if I have a lot of mesos I usually spend it, so I usually just go with the amount I need for training, and store the rest on another character incase I ever need it. If by speed you mean moving around, no, if by training speed yeah, I'd prefer faster. So, I'm picking Global up again. - Pikachu - 2008-10-05 I'd choose the sader. It requires less funding to do mroe damage. So, I'm picking Global up again. - Hero - 2008-10-05 basically, they're both rather bad characters. making a complete new character using the funds from both is actually your best option, considering: 101 base dex on a crusader does not compute, even with a decent 2H sword it'd be weak as pomegranate. the hermit wouldn't have to do much trouble to wear regular dex stuff, and considering not alot of people are regular dex, it'd be cheaper. basically, just pick whichever you like playing, considering if you cared about damage you wouldn't continue with either. So, I'm picking Global up again. - wobbufet - 2008-10-05 Do you plan reaching 4th job? If you do I'd play the crusader because they are a great class in 4th, otherwise I'd play the hermit. So, I'm picking Global up again. - FoolsLove - 2008-10-05 Hero Wrote:basically, they're both rather bad characters. making a complete new character using the funds from both is actually your best option, considering:The problem with that is I've gone through several dozen characters since I started playing (back around early beta times). I've made just about every job up to 4X and could only find the patience to level Assassins/Hermits and Fighters/Crusaders. I'd rather not remake one of those jobs when I already have two higher leveled ones. I don't care about damage, tbh. My only real goal is to get to 100, and when I eventually get to that point, I'll decide whether I want to continue onto 120 and beyond. wobbufet Wrote:Do you plan reaching 4th job? Basically, in order to get wanted for bosses, you're going to need to do decent damage with either classes. Hermits get into bosses alot easier, no matter how strong your crusader/hero will be, solely because their apples last 5 minutes longer. Unless things changed the past month, hero's get severely underrated. With 101 on a crusader most people would say "well just use STR gear and you'll be fine" -- no you won't. Dexless/low dex character also use STR gear because accuracy is incredibly easy to come by. Compare your character to a dexless character that's wearing the exact same armor as you -- your damage is going to be 19 levels lower than his. You're missing out on 96 STR. That's "sort of a big deal". If you want to make a crusader, make the best out of it and restart. Continueing it is going to be a bad idea. The hermit aswell, but since their w.atk weighs heavier it shouldn't be as noticeable. -- this is my opinion. So, I'm picking Global up again. - FoolsLove - 2008-10-07 Hero Wrote:Basically, in order to get wanted for bosses, you're going to need to do decent damage with either classes. It wasn't easy, needless to say I never got into a Zak or Papu run at the time. The reason I was so high was because of a few reasons. I started that character when Khaini first opened, and DEX/Accuracy equips were not exactly everywhere to be found. Not to mention the fact that scrolling things well especially on a new server was not easy. I did actually get a pretty damn good scrolling (+3 10% glove dex) on an Adam Knuckle, which I mispriced and sold it for 5m . After that, and consulting a few friends and other people I decided to go with higher DEX so I was able to hit monsters easier. I don't really remember why I went with the DEX I did on my Hermit. If I do restart (not saying I am), I'm going to consider moving servers, again. If I were to do such a thing, which would be a better server to go to? I'm not going back to Scania or Bera, those are two crowded for me and I never really had good experiences there. It's been a while since I've seriously played, as I said before, and I really don't have much of a grip on markets anymore. I already have 30k NX bought, for use on my Crusader/Hermit or new character, and will probably buy some more in due time, so assuming I get at least a decent Gach, meso shouldn't be much of an issue. So, I'm picking Global up again. - DrRusty - 2008-10-07 Scania isn't anywhere near as crowded as it used to be, but it is a little more expensive than the other servers. I can vouch from experience that khaini is a pretty cheap server. You might want to try there. I agree with Hero in that you should start over though. I know not everyone is a damage wh0re, but atleast being able to do average damage will make this game more fun since you can get into boss runs easier. Stop giving yourself excuses, you were a low leveled, weak fool that most likely had no connections and hardly any experience. FoolsLove Wrote:The reason I was so high was because of a few reasons. First snowboard event. We hadn't even beat zakum until I was somewhere around 3rd job. Not a good excuse either. Also, 10% glove dex on an adamantium knuckle (claw)? What. Every single server is the exact same only with different names infront of what people annoy you and prices being different. How about you just stick to a damn server, make a non shitty character and enjoy the game without thinking about it too much? Just pick a server, make a new character and go. I even trained with KhainPriest, Salleem, ExtremeBeast, and a lot of other higher levels on the server. At the time I was very well known. Level 40 Warrior glove. There's more than one equip with the name "Knuckle" in it. If that was true, why would SO many people make a big deal out of making a new or transferring a character to a different server? Everyone has reasons to go to different servers, no matter what it may be. And no, not every server is the same with the exception of names and economy. That's nice and all, but that doesn't change the fact you were playing a weak and low leveled character. Messed up, was thinking about those Avarice claws for some reason. Most people change servers because they got into fights with folks on their home server, can't join any boss groups or are hated by one reason or another, or because they have friends that move to different servers aswell or just want to start a-new. Doesn't mean you should make such a big deal out of it: Just pick a damn server. It's just not helpful. By around 100 it's not so bad (esp. on Pap) and by 110 you could probably get a steady position in Zakum groups if you have the time for it. I don't see what the rush is though, I didn't beat Papulatus until 118... It's been a while since I played, and would rather play a good server. As would.. everyone else? Never actually got to bodies, as it was just a for fun run, the best we did was get through one arm. I learned approx level ranges on my Hermit for both my Hermit and Crusader for both bosses. I wasn't in a rush, nor am I now. Bucket Wrote:You started with 9x DEX before you resetted. You were just as stupid as this fellow!Sorry, but I was not stupid.
