A question... (For real this time) - Hanabira.Kage - 2011-03-17

Before I ask anything, I would like to know if it is against the rules to discuss emulators and roms on SP. >.>

(Will post the actual question if it's not)

why would that be a rule

It's only against the rules to ask for or provide links.

I'm sure it's not a good idea to discuss how to obtain emulators/ROMs but dunno about discussions about them in general. At least in the forums I've been in, they didn't allow Emu/ROM-obtaining discussion, at least. :I

Neither emulators nor ROMs are illegal.

They sort of infringe on copyright laws so...

Anyways, my actual question is:

Is there a way to activate the "wi-fi" function for a NDS emulator, or at least trick the game into thinking that it's activated? I downloaded a Pokemon Platinum rom and just got the Explorer Kit so...

If it helps, I'm using the no$GBA emulator. ._.

As far as I know, there is absolutely nothing illegal about Roms and Emulators themselves. What is illegal and against copyright law is illegally sharing and distributing those roms and being in possesion of copyrighted material you do not have permission/rights to use (although patches, and emulators usually are perfectly legal to share).
Its kind of like how Napster and Peer to Peer programs are not illegal. People just use them to perform illegal activities.

None of the emulators support Wi-Fi. Though some succeeded in doing so, but then Nintendo decided to be hostile and blocked the connected from said method of Wi-Fi connecting.

Yeah, I just read about it. Just wondering if there's any way to trick the game into thinking the wi-fi's connected, though?

Okay. I figure I might be able to use PokeSAV to get to the Underground, but I need the z-coordinates for this...which I can't find anywhere.
