Which do you think is better and why?
Extra lines for more stats, or that full set effect with basically a free extra weapon line?
I'm not looking for a discussion on which is more feasible and why, just a discussion of what is optimal and why.

Well in terms of stats its of course better, the only problem is it feasible to gain with all the restrictions. Lion heart tokens arent that easy to get, and getting 10 could take a month alone, and 3 vs 2 line is about a 30% 40% rate in my experience. Though this is not a "fact" but it probably take 40 coins at least to achieve 3 line. You can settle for 2, however it'll be harder to get that 15+% stats.

I would love getting the marx set. Being a pally means i get an extra 1.2k def having the full set XD. But thats just me.

Useless to those having perfect VIP weapons or mages who are using ele staffs which are fast4 and the new staff is slow8 like VIP =/

May as well wait for the next set of equips and get that set. I think the set stats are much better than these ones.

In terms of stats, VL set can't beat my Lucida set at all. I'm not sure how much the %ignore def is worth when I am already ignoring 66%, either. (which would drop 15% off my weapon when I got the new one, though I could of course cube it again)
And with the cost of epic/uniques at 20-100 cubes.. bleh.
If I look at it as, top+bottom:
49 stats
6 potential lines
6 speed
3 slots (from hammering)
overall:
10 stats
3 potential lines (could be 2)
no speed
9 slots (with hammers)
10% hp/mp
30% ignore def?
It just shows how bad that overall is

Yeah they are, but they'll be far more difficult to obtain. They only drop from empress

It's possible, I don't know what set of equips he was referring to. I just assumed the 140 set.

Imo van beats the 130 set due to the set effect of even just 5. The 130 set effect is like garbage unless you want it for pvp (unless i have old information on that). I can also just stay 4 dex and get the marx set easily. My plan is to go black or green neos + Leon for mixed feasibility and the aesthetics. And yeah, 3-lining a bunch of marx eqs is going to be a peach (it's still one coin per kill and working as intended yeah?) but unless i decide to just forget sets all together i'll probably go for it. at this point i'm just not considering the 140 set an option and am just a lot less fond of the 130. But if someone was going to be like NO WAIT! you can get a lot out of that set effect by getting XYZ on your weapon so it will make up for missing three lines. As no one seems to think that, it just reaffirms my already existing line of thinking.
