Whoa NG made a big fault here... Chinese aren't the most spread / socially mixed group across the world. Most Chinese live together in a place called China (ya rly), closed of from the rest of the world, where noone sees them.
Do your research again NG... or state your terms correct. Call it "Most average look of the human race" maybe, but not "on the face of the earth". Noone sees Chinese people, they're such a closed community.

They researched on all the types of faces on the earth and found that one was the most common, not the most widespread. There is nothing about spacial distribution, simply the Mode.
