Weapon-specific-ness of pirate skills? - Russt - 2008-10-01 So I was wondering about non weapon-specific infighter skills. Mainly attacks. Like... somersault kick can be used with a gun, right? Could it be used with a... sword/dagger/christmas mitten too? And what damage calculation would it use then? Weapon-specific-ness of pirate skills? - Takebacker - 2008-10-01 I shall test. Pretty sure it's with anything though. The calculation would probably just be the formula of the weapon you're using. Don't get any ideas about training with a godly 2h sword or something though. It wouldn't be that great... Weapon-specific-ness of pirate skills? - IsaacGS - 2008-10-01 Most infighter skills can be used with no weapon at all. Pretty weird to think about but that's how it works. Somersault kick works with a gun, and any other weapon. Straight works with a gun too. I think they stop working with guns after first job, though. Weapon-specific-ness of pirate skills? - Sinnuendo - 2008-10-01 I'm pretty sure Kick is everything, and Straight can be used with bare hands as well as knuckles. Weapon-specific-ness of pirate skills? - VladTheLvr - 2008-10-01 SO WE CAN TRAIN WITH A GODLY 2-H sword in first job??? Since after 2nd you'll need the mastery that comes with the knuckle. Weapon-specific-ness of pirate skills? - Link - 2008-10-01 The two first job attacks, Straight and SomerSault Kick, are usable with ALL equippable weapons for a pirate. The rest of the skills don't, however. Weapon-specific-ness of pirate skills? - Acim - 2008-10-01 All I know is that yes, Somersault Kick can be used with a gun. EDIT: So if you used no weapon, would the damage be based on ATT from your cape/shoes/gloves or would it do a set number (1, maybe?) all the time? Weapon-specific-ness of pirate skills? - Link - 2008-10-01 Your damage at that point is based on your total STR/DEX and any other attack equips. Did this mean that somersault kick, etc, wont work after first job with other weapons, or that all the skills after second job dont work? Because having a pumpkin spear or something second job at CPQ for a while might be good, because of the atk boost. At least until mastery and booster is gotten and points start going into screw punch. As for the skill thing, Straight and SomerSault kick can be used with ANY weapon forever. All other skills do not work with any weapon. Weapon-specific-ness of pirate skills? - NoWaizMatt - 2008-10-03 So...you'd advise until about 35 to use something like a pumpkin spear? Just for the high accuracy/attack? Weapon-specific-ness of pirate skills? - Sivrat - 2008-10-04 i actually used the scrolls i got from typhon eggs that i had stored to scroll a level 15 axe, to use for to level my mules for the referral program. Its a 44 atk level 15 axe, so imma use that for a while, then switch to pumpkin spear during CPQ, then when i get enough coins from CPQ, gonna get level 50 knuckle. Also, what is the likelihood that the level 60 knuckle will drop from coolies, like in other versions? Im pretty sure we always have the same drops initially at least, right? If so, i have a cleric i just got back so imma head there with 2x drop on, and farm those when they start dropping. Weapon-specific-ness of pirate skills? - Sivrat - 2008-10-07 i have a random 44 atk level 15 1h axe, also made a 42 atk one at the same time. So im set. Also, is it possible, since most say even though gunslingers can use somersault kick, it does horrible damage later on, is it possible that the formula is heavily dependent on STR and not truly reflective of ATK range? Because a Gunslinger's range wouldnt be that much lower, but its calculated using their dex.
