Amdusias' Emblem disappeared? - scintilliaSD - 2011-02-24

Getting back into MapleStory recently, I decided to try out a Wild Hunter. However, when I tried to do the quest for the Amdusias Helm, the Emblem disappeared when I started the quest. I was able to go into the Demon's Doorway without it, but Amdusias has no health bar, and I attacked him for well over 2 minutes without any sort of result.

I tried forfeiting the quest and reaccepting it, but the game says that I can't carry more than one of this item, which I assume is taking about the Emblem that is not actually in my inventory.

I was wondering if this happened to anyone else, and if anyone knows how to fix it?

Yep.. this happened to me also. I had no problem with a mech and DW to get their job helms. Its just that archer boss that the health bar doesn't show up and won't die.

I also tried to kill the one thats located just before going to Astraroth with no success. -It did die, but the quest wasn't done-

Lern2Read. Amdouchiest, unlike at least 2 of the other demon bosses, requires you to kill it with the statless Infinity -100 bow you get upon starting the quest. This was in the quest dialogue that you should always read for tidbits such as this one. As a wild hunter, your skills won't work with the bow. That means you need to kill it with nothing but regular attacks. If you've been picking up every pot you come across, that should be enough to get you through the raeptastic fun of being a punching bag for 5 minutes or so until the thing finally dies. If you haven't, buy pots and have at it. The problem with the quest is that it was designed for bowmen who could use either a regular bow or crossbow until second job. Wild Hunters don't have the luxury, making them completely unsuited for the quest. It's like making the magician boss only killable with a wand or the pirate boss only killable with a knuckle, which would essentially make battle mages and mechanics equally neutered. Luckily, the bow boss is the only one with such a facepalm worthy requirement. My suggestion to you is this: make a mechanic instead. GAN GAN GAN GAN!
