I've been wondering this for a while...
If people keep getting epic/unique with like 6-10 cubes, why is it that I've found like over 100 pot. items, none of them being epic/unique and most being crappy stats?
Am I just unlucky or do cubes give some kind of different hid. pot?

Finding an item already epic/unique is very very rare. Cubing to epic/unique is something else entirely.
Some people say that in KMS it's much easier to find items already epic/unique, dunno anyway.

People don't talk so much about their items that do take 100+ cubes to unique, I guess.
And once you've got an epic item, it stays epic. That massively raises the chances of getting to unique of course. Unique from a drop is very unlikely cause it'd have to randomly gain 2 ranks.
For myself, I've found 1 epic drop. In probably hundreds of potential equips.

Yeah it really isn't that easy to just cube items to unique either, I think I'm somewhere near my 52nd cube on my Deputy Star and it's still Epic.

too expensive for most people to cube anyway. My cousin was lucky enough to get our dagger to unique after 12 cubes, but some people have taken over 30 cubes just to get to epic and even more to get to unique. It takes a significant amount of investment and time to get to that level and most people would be better off just selling the 3 line'd uncubed rare item to go hunting for more stuff.

Those are just lucky SOBs. I got my overall to go from Rare to Epic in 1 cube but it's been Epic for the past dozen cubes until it finally became Unique. Other items I have have been taking for-friggin-ever to get to epic.
I've found maybe two items that were epic upon magnifying it, but everything else has been rare. I have only heard of maybe two people who ever got a Unique item off the bat. It's just luck, it's hard to find because it's rare as hell (no pun intended) to find an item that will actually skip 1 or 2 ranks.

Out of the 10 Unique Equips I have atm 8 of them have taken between 80-100 cubes just to get unique, then another 40-80 to get 12 or 15% str on them.
Its not cheap

170 Cubes on my knuckler and still Epic.
I think a item has certain amount of cubes until it goes epic or unqiue. Some people just get items that go unique in 20 cubes.

I got my belt in unique from rare in two cubes.
Rare -> Epic 1 cube
Epic -> Unique 1 cube.
7 Cubes later I ended up with 21% LUK.

On average I've gotten my equips from rare to epic with probably around 8 or 9 cubes? Some I get with 6, some I get after 15.

It's been like that for me on my 4 epic items, but my CHTP refuses to go to epic even after like 20-25+ cubes. It's saddening.
