So I have max shifter and tt now, and plan on either maxing venom or star mastery next. Which would help me more? And how exactly does mastery work? Is it like +25% total damage? Or +25% damage to avenger? And it doesn't work for tt right?

Is venom even any good?

Er... It's not only +25 total damage, BUT ALSO, 25% more damage to the corresponding SP hit.

Meaning that if you max it, you'd have 125% damage avenger, plus a 62.5% SP damage out of that number. So yeah, you hit more than half on that. What I'm wondering is why you don't have it yet, even if it doesn't affect TT (Nope, no effects there, sorry DSmile

Also, Venom is quite weak, compared to everything else. A good damage boost, but only on bosses. If I were you, I'd definitely go for the avenger/drain boost.

Definitely Expert Star Handling for reasons stated already unless you have big plans for bosses soon or in the future. As Venom now only applies once, does not stack, and is set damage (Confirmation?), but still amazing for bosses, but in terms of training-intensive style of game play, its priority is sort of on the low side.

This belongs in the thief section. Or Game Mechanics.

To answer your question, Venom used to be excellent when training at monsters, but you can toss that to one of the last things you max after Fake now. Mastery for sure.

At least give an answer to the question asked.

For clarification, I'm pretty sure the effects of Star Mastery are multiplicative rather than additive. So it'd be 1.25x damage.

Might as well get Expert Throwing first anyway, it's only 10 SP, and you're not gonna be able to fight any tough bosses before 140 or so. Don't really need venom to take down Papulatus.

I'd go so far as to say that Expert is the first skill that should be maxed fo a Night Lord. If you do not train with avenger, you are doing it wrong. Since it also boosts Lucky 7 and Drain the 3 levels later maxing of TT is not even a big deal.
