[Article] Nexon America's Pre-Paid Card Empire - OB3LISK - 2011-02-07 I can't believe that arrogant prick is bragging about his Go to Target for nx quest. Edit: Taking their share of teenagers $1.5 billion? Get the pineapple over yourself. It's not your fucking share. [Article] Nexon America's Pre-Paid Card Empire - Mute - 2011-02-07 He says he's worried about people spending too much money... pure PR there. [Article] Nexon America's Pre-Paid Card Empire - Luxeraph - 2011-02-07 Quote:Min Kim also says, however, that the company is trying to "redefine what a hit is" -- rather than go after big releases and "blockbuster" status, Nexon's titles represent a slow burn that builds on relationships with their customers. "We look at this as a service, not a product," says Daniel Kim, as he compares Nexon's titles to TV series like The Simpsons or Cheers rather than a big summer movie. As they do with maplestory? [Article] Nexon America's Pre-Paid Card Empire - Shidoshi - 2011-02-07 Interesting article, though it's mostly things we already know about maple, it's nice to have them written and explained. I don't think there is anything negative to comment here. [Article] Nexon America's Pre-Paid Card Empire - KhainiWest - 2011-02-07 I wish they'd put those billions of dollars towards more employees. Then again Maplestory is its biggest title. [Article] Nexon America's Pre-Paid Card Empire - Felicitates - 2011-02-07 It was a good idea. So kudos to Daniel for it. Anyways this article made me wonder....why the pineapple has all the stores near my house stop selling 10k nx cards, either someone is buying them out to the point they're non-existent or 25k are the only thing in my town... Eh I dunno if it's the employees fault though. I tend to think it's due to some higher ups in the corporate ladder that are to blame for a vast majority of the problems the community has. And rather than blame said higher ups, people mostly blame the lower tier workers i.e. the GMs, when they mostly have very little power to do a lot of the things the community wants done. And they tend to get blamed for when things go wrong, which again, I don't think most GMs actually are the reason for problems. Then again, I dunno their corporate structure well enough to guess at what should and shouldn't be done, and none of the rest of us do either. At best we can say we want more of this or that, but if it's just a very small and vocal minority of users specifying that, and it wouldn't help their bottom line any . . . well corporations don't generally change unless a large portion of their consumer base demands it. As for the second part, if they weren't getting enough sales of the $10 ones, they may have decided to just get the larger ones to save on inventory while still making money off of them. The GMs basically make themselves shown once every two months to play some stupid fucking Jump Quest Event in Lith Harbor. If GMs were good they'd be on everyday randomly smegaing making themselves known to be around. The GMs are on more often than that, just because they don't announce themselves doesn't mean they're not there. Could they be more interactive and talk to the community more? Sure, but their main job has always been to catch hackers and other ToS breakers so as much as we might like to see/hear more of them, chances are good things will remain as they have. Most of the GMs hired are not qualified as community liaisons, they're silent and invisible, or maybe work on support tickets. Whether Nexon should hire more people to talk to the players.. probably. Whether Nexon should hire more people to talk to the players.. probably. I don't need the GMs to talk to me. I need them to do their job. When you see the same hacker sitting unbanned at the White Christmas Tree for the duration of the event, you know no GM ever set foot in that map, invisibly or not. And if you say "but that was during Christmas break, GMs have lives too, most of them were on vacation" - take a look at MP3 or any other popular map right now, an ordinary day in February. Raining Mines in half the channels at least. Go in FM, see PB summoned, or get map crashed. Realize that if GMs exist at all, they are more rare than Jaira, and apparently also spawn on just one map (FM Entrance, to ban some meso-selling bots, who'll be replaced in a few seconds). And as for tickets... When it takes weeks for a ticket to even be assigned to a GM, when the mail-bot keeps sending out "we are continuing to experience a high ticket volume", maybe it's time to realize that *is* the normal ticket volume and hire a few more people to deal with them? (And I'm not even talking about the meaningless responses tickets get when they're finally dealt with. Wonder how long it takes the average GM to click "ok" on the auto-ticket-response AI's suggestion?) TL; DR: It's painfully obvious that the Nexon America Customer Support department is severely understaffed. [Article] Nexon America's Pre-Paid Card Empire - Hanabira.Kage - 2011-02-08 Quote:Its Dungeon Fighter Online game (a browser-based mashup between an MMO and a character-based brawler) proclaims to have 200 million registered users worldwide. Last I heard, citizens of every country with their own Maplestory server are barred from playing any Nexon America game. ._. Not denying that. They're way below what's acceptable. Just saying not to expect visible GM action (smegas and such) except from the 1 guy (who's totally not -Hime-) during events. [Article] Nexon America's Pre-Paid Card Empire - Holypie - 2011-02-08 It's funny how they say DFO is browser based. Also HOLY pomegranate DRAGON NEST? They simply aren't allowed to reveal themselves the majority of the time. |
