Dev Blog-Server Maintenances - Azuma - 2011-02-04 I love the class auditions ! <3 I don't see why they need so many people to run a SC when it needs a max of like 3 people and bug testers. I find hard to believe that from ALL those testers to go in all chs that none of them actually dc'ed from it. Unless it was only one person going from channel to channel and world to world, which would be just dumb. Not only that, but the Cash shop has numerous files and finding the two files that didn't sync up wasn't exactly an easy glitch to find when there are a lot of connections. I know that, I am one that didn't DC in Cash Shop (only when my computer was lame). But I find really hard to believe that NO TESTER actually DC'ed in CS. That being said, the number that were affected was higher than the ones not affected. I believe that at least ONE of them should have that. And just to point out, I know this is NOT necessary, but I believe that they should get one guy in each map *I know, this sounds ridiculous now* to test the maps, just to not happening that thing in Malaysia going to Vikerolas, that you had to change the graphics settings. Dev Blog-Server Maintenances - sicnarf - 2011-02-04 A+ blog, would read again. Dev Blog-Server Maintenances - Razmos - 2011-02-04 Step 7: Emergency Maintenance! NEXON has said before even after numerous testing some bugs do not appear until the game goes live. Dev Blog-Server Maintenances - Felicitates - 2011-02-04 I love that they explained everything for us. This was very interesting to read, and I hope now people realize the amount of work it takes to run this game. Then if it appears AFTER the game goes live, someone changed the encoding. Just turning the switch ON does not make hundreds of thousands of people have a bad-encoding on CS. A bad encoding does. I am not a freaking professional on how-to create programs and such, but even I know that's not the way it works. I'm glad they explained, just wondering why the hell happened. I am a content tester for this website and from the things we've tested, we've ironed out all the bugs we could find. HOWEVER, the day of the upgrade, several bugs surfaced that we did not experience during the testing period. Just saying, things DO go wrong after things go live, without changing codes. It actually makes sense now that I think about it |: Anyway, I still believe that a bug around CS that makes you DC doesn't necessarily came up with it becoming On again. It's plausible enough that they didn't get effected and made part of the minority of people, but still~ (sorry for any english mistakes, rofl) Dev Blog-Server Maintenances - kanevaldier - 2011-02-04 I dont know a lot about programming, but I do know enough about it to be dangerous. What I know is that the "bugs" (errors in the code) are generally not going to show up until testing and even then you are not actually turning everything on. There are still lines of code that have no effect until the user actually does something to trigger that line of code. No matter what bugs are going to be there. I think the real issue is the response time it takes to get something done to fix the problem. Which is severly lacking in the maple world. |
