I ruined my Battle Mage. - Razmos - 2011-01-11 Late in 2nd Job, i decided that Blue Aura was useless in regards to my other skills like Booster and Drain, so i decided to stop putting points into it past level 10, then in 3rd Job comes Advanced Blue Aura which i haven't unlocked and so can't put any points into. I don't mind this, because it allows me to put skill points into other skills that i would find more useful. But later at around level 90 i realised what a stupid mistake i've made, because without the skill to put points into, with all my skills maxed, i will still have 13 points left over, meaning no 4th Job for me. D: So i have 2 choices:
What a mess. I ruined my Battle Mage. - Xakris - 2011-01-11 YYY, just put your sp into blue aura from 2nd job? 3rd job Skill Points can be used in 2nd even 1st job skills. The main reason you had to spend all of your SP in the past is because it wasn't job-specific, so could in theory be used for that later job. If you have extra points they'll just sit there and rot right now, but you'll still be able to advance. There are a few people who've at least done the same thing as you and claimed that (and I know I didn't use all of my first job points before advancing to second at least, forgot to put the last 3 in at 30). Oh! thank you very much, that is a massive relief
I ruined my Battle Mage. - ultimax21 - 2011-01-11 Eh, its not life changing that you don't have maxed advanced blue aura. You can just keep leveling in 4th job until you're bored or when another free sp reset comes by (maybe when chaos update arrives or after mechs). I ruined my Battle Mage. - hadriel - 2011-01-11 You can advance with SP leftover, but no cross-job SP addition. Personally tested. Blue aura... well... most people would rather make use of evasion from AYA and high damage to kill the monster first before taking excessive amounts of damage. The risk of 1/1 from bosses makes ABA not very useful during bossing, and generally most people Drain enough HP to bring HP pot cost to 0, so for general purposes you're not at a disadvantage. But as for resistance to statuses e.g. Seduce... well... on the bright side, 5% drain means that you worry less about HP pot usage during bossing, because you're always hitting the cap (unlike... me...). As a note, a party with a Paladin will bring my Drain up to level 5 at 2%, which is just sufficient. Note: Dispel dispells auras too, that is, dispel attacks from monsters e.g. Manon. Hadriel |
