It's hard to say. I'm pretty sure it works, but threaten doesn't have a 100% rate anyway to be sure.

I had no difficulty threatening. I also made sure I couldn't land a hit on these guys before trying.

From what the current rumor mill states... only, supposedly, Pink Bean can not be Threatened. The rest are fair game. And yes it works only 50% of the time... which could be an additional factor as to why sometimes you have to use it about as many as 5 times to get it to work.

Pink can be threatened ( the orange thing pops on its head), but I'm not sure if it reduces its attack, defense, and accuracy.
