I'm looking foward to this. Hopefully, this won't turn out like Dragon Ball Online, where the Korean version is out for more than a year and there's no word of any kind of release outside of Korea. Or worse... like Kavatina Story where the company doesn't keep up with the game or update it and eventually close it down due to it being a dead/dying project.

Completely new game, completely new engine.
Maplestory is quite old. Why rework the entire engine to bring it up to date? Its not like it pumps that much money out like other MMOs.
EDIT: It also means they're gonna milk the pineapple out of Maplestory 1 til its last breath most likely. If Maplestory 2 goes well, they'll stop development for Maplestory 1, the servers will still run until it doesn't make enough profit.

I feel I don't care - I'm happy with Vindictus. Unless MS2 adds something both very positive and very refreshing to the formula, I don't think I'll care. Honestly, if the game's going to go the route of MapleStory and multiply its content base by tenfold in a matter of years, it's going to have a real problem when it starts out small and people will get bored from a lack of anything to do. MS will be a better game than MS2 for a long time, unless it's a fundamentally different game from MS.

Maple will die out if this comes out. I really don't think they could pull off the same feel that the original maple had. It will be a new game made by new people, and so it will either be really cool or fail miserably.

I'm curious about this project.
Being a new project, one would expect that the same issues that bogged down the original Maple wouldn't be present in this game (or be far less of an issue). Hopefully.

Same here. It really depends on how they do it though. If it has certain elements and a bit of a feel to the old Maplestory, but with a much more balanced, entertaining, and better systems overall, I could definitly play it.
The class system got a bit out of hand in certain ways, too many classes means way too many possible imbalances. Scrolling was aggravating at points. All there really was to do was grind and level up. Wasn't until the Chaos patch to where they actually added some other forms of building your character. I love character progression myself, but in the form of only grinding and level up... it gets old fast. There was always possibilities, just never taken up on. Also, boss mechanics need to be interesting for once.

Having seen the mess that custom content creates I hope to god that when it gets localized that the team doesn't attempt to add any exclusives. Or that they hire some real programmers. But more likely just add 0 custom content so we don't have to deal with a massive bugfest every patch.

If you recall, it took over two years for DNF to even make it over to America, and an equally long time for Maplestory. It's just going into CBT for Korea. I doubt this is coming our way anytime soon.
