I reached CB and am slowly maxing out my active skills. The only problem is; the default key settings suck. So I was hoping to see some of your configurations so I could try and find one that works for me.

Not at shadower stage yet, but I figured it couldn't hurt to tell you my general setup for all characters:
A-Mob Skill - Band of Thieves
S-Movement Skill - Flash Jump
D-Single Target Skill - Steal, because Doublestab is worthless, but Steal is unmaxed so it's not worth using frequently
F-Regular Attack
Shift- Loot
Z- Mob Skill - Assaulter, for ease of use
X-Single Target Skill - Savage Blow
C-Jump
Ctrl- Seldom used skill
Alt- Seldom used skill
Space - HP pots
End- MP pots
Pg Up, Pg Down - Other pots/less frequently used skills
Del, Ins, Home - Buffs
Also, I'll note that this is my setup for my laptop, with a regular keyboard a different setup might be more to your liking. The reason I like this setup though, is that it's a standardized format, so I can play almost any class and immediately remember my key settings given my general use/placement of skills.

Z - Regular Attack/Main Single Target (Savage Blow)
X - Jump
D - HP Potion
C - MP Potion

N - Shadow Partner
Alt - Flash Jump
Q - Dark Sight
W - Assassinate
End - Mob Skill - Band of Thieves

You can make it as expensive as you want... A gamepad is a gamepad.
Personally I prefer the xbox360 wireless USB PC gamepad, since they have the best grip for my hands.
Iif you have smaller hands, go grab a logitech or playstation one (or any other that you like).
The only (software) tool you need is Xpadder, which works on virtually every gamepad. It emulates the keyboard key presses when you pres the gamepad's buttons.

Attack Skills are: DCRFVX SHIFT ALT CONTROL DEL (in order: 1st job punch, screw punch, demo, double uppercut, back spin blow, energy drain, barrage, dragon, energy buster, energy orb)
support are on the right of my keyboard, those keys between L and enter (spanish keyboard ñ and ´with macros for support)
potions are HP space and MP end
I think that's about it.

Default setups are always the worst. Don't try and get used to a setup that's just handed to you, you should always customize your keys as soon as possible to fit your feel.
Although I'm not yet a Shadower, these are my keys so far:
A: Savage Blow
S: Band of Thieves
D: Pickup
F: Jump
V: Assaulter
C: Attack (Normal)
Z: Pickpocket
Space: NPC Chat
G: Meso Explosion
Shift: Flash Jump
End: Meso Guard
Home: Shadow Partner
Delete: Dark Sight
Alt: Booster
Ctrl: Haste
Page UP: MP Potions
Page DOWN: HP Potions
Insert: (Usually left for buff-potions)
Setups like this never fail me, very comfortable, everything is in easy reach. Always go with a setup that is just the most comfortable, keep changing things around until it feels right to you.

When I play Shadowers, my key configuration is usually like this :

HP Potion : Control
MP Potion : End (laptop... The END key is right above my right arrow key)
Assaulter : A
Savage Blow : D
Boomerang Step : F
Band of Thieves : C
Flash Jump : Shift
Assassinate : T
Haste : V
Meso Guard : B
Booster : N
Pick Pocket : Y
Chakra : O (I hardly ever use this, but this is also where my MP Recovery skill goes for my Viper)
Dark Sight : Page Down
Shadow Partner : J
Meso Explosion : X
Pick up : Z
Attack Potion : Delete
Did I forget anything? Most things are default (S for status, K for skills, I for inventory, E for equipment inventory, etc.)
Let me see if I can get a screen shot of my JMS key configuration to make sure... It's only a Chief Bandit, but it'll work well enough.

Some things get pushed around when I hit fourth job, of course, but that's the general key configuration I stick to when playing a Shadower.

I'm weird: I use my index finger for the primary mob skill and use my ring finger to jump :c
z: Single target (savage blow)
x: (movement skill- Flash jump)
c: Mob skill (primary-BoT at the moment; change to Boomerrang after 4th job)
v: regular attack
a: Mob skill (secondary, but right now it's housing darksight)
s: Buff (Meso Guard)
d-g: (random skill/ buffs- pickpocket, shadow partner, etc)
q: mount usually, but right now nothing
e-r: random skills
Shift: jump
Ctrl: loot
Alt: Assaulter
Space: haste
Del, Pgdn: primary pots (hp/mp)
inst, home: booster and self HB (respectively)
pgup: more pots (usually something that heals both Hp and Mp like NLC pizza or ginger ales)
end: primary self heal (chakra)
Random keys on my keyboard also house random skills like L7 and steal and double stab. I also place chairs on the right side of the keyboard.
I do the same with my Buccaneer cause they have just as many skills. I tend to follow the same build for all my characters.
zxcv line is used for non- transform, non energy charge attacks (primary skills)
asdf line is used for backspin (a) and energy skills
qwer line is used for transform only skills and the mount on (q).

I plan on putting BStep on S or replacing it with BoT and putting BoT on another key. Then Assassinate maybe on D and the rest of my buffs and crap on everything else. I always put Booster on B, MW on M, and my mobility skill on Shift (Rush, FJ, Corkscrew, Wings, skills like those) and my main 1v1 skill on Ctrl. I always move most of my non-skill buttons onto the right so I have those on one side and my skills on the other. Playing on a laptop

I recently switched the Maple Tree Chair for Steal for the hell of it.
Z is reserved for my Hog when I get around to getting one. ^_^
Post-BB, I'm gonna macro Booster + Haste since their timers are the same. I'll drop Shadow Partner on J until I get it to 18, then I'll probably macro it to Booster + Haste. Pickpocket will be put on J once I get it (i.e. after Shadow Partner is maxed). Then again, since Shadow Partner uses up a rock...
p.s. Ignore the rest of my key configs. It's completely messed up, compared to the default. Mine's been like this since day one so I'm used to it.
