The same thing happened to me, too. The problem doesn't happen when it's run as administrator, so this way it will always run as admin. If you play the game on a limited user account or with User Access Control enabled then you probably need the administrator to assign the correct permissions to the whole C:\Nexon\MapleStory folder. The best solution is just to disable UAC.
