[Draft] Pets - All About Them - MapleCookie - 2008-09-16 This is a guide for anybody, really, that needs to know commands about their pet(s), or training tips, or just have any questions about pets. I have had a lot of pets and have done a lot research on these commands and stuff - but the rest is just written straight from my heart. This will include a lot of facts about pets. Table of Contents :
Why Pets are Useful Pets are great to have because you can train them when you get bored, use them for looting, HP and MP pots, and even to get speed or jump on a pet equip. They're fun, cute, and handy... what else could you want? Eventually, pets will have more features... but for now, just use 'em for what you can. Pet Training Tips [INFO-4] Pet food items from the cash shop that increase 100 closeness are a great way, but expensive. Pet Park, if you have the patience, is also a great way. But, when you're short on nx, and can't do jump quests... why not just give your pet commands? When you're waiting for the boat, or waiting for the NLC train, or something like that... just tell your pet to do something, and you'll hopefully gain 50~100 closeness before you're done waiting. Also, be sure to do the pet quests! They are named Fanzy the Mysterious Cat and Kenta's Advice. For Fanzy, you have to talk to Nella in Kerning City. Go to The Field North of Ellinia and talk to Fanzy. Hunt 1 Red Ball of Yarn from slimes. Return to Fanzy for 15 closeness! For Kenta's Advice, go to Aquarium and talk to Kenta. Hit the treasure chests outside of town and collect pieces of paper A, B, C, D, and E. Bring them to Kenta for 25 closeness, I believe. You will also notice that no matter what speed you have, your pet will stay right behind you. Very useful when wanting to loot! Also, Fiel forces us to put in the words Frylock and Meatwad somewhere in here. So I decided to put it down here where nobody can see it. More Information [INFO-5] Ludibrium Pet Park - Get there by going into the main town. Go to the left - Find Patricia, the pet merchant teddybear. Go up the few floating steps, and go into the portal. Talk to the NPC. Obtain the letter, and jump. This is the mini map of this map : ![]() In the top left hand corner, where the blue structure is, here is a tip for that area : Do not jump down. Just fall, and you will land on the platform safely. Henesys Pet Park - Go to Henesys Park. Find the cat statues. Hit up twice on the left one. Go all the way to the left and talk to Trainer Bartos. Obtain the letter. Jump through the course. This is what it looks like : ![]() It's pretty easy, really. It's mostly timing of your jump. I have no special tips for this; as it is really easy to understand. Also, the part on the right is just a fool around area. Pet Equips : Pet equips are equippable by either all pets, or just a certain type of pet. The ones that are equippable for all pets are a little cheaper, and have 5 slots. The ones that are equippable for certain pets, however, have 7 slots and are a little more expensive. Here are the images of pet equips and what pets can equip them. (NOTE : Lots of images) :

Pet Skills (Meso Magnet, HP / MP pouches, etc.) :Pets can do things for you like use your HP and MP potions for you (applying to you, of course), pick up your mesos, pick up your items, and even pick up drops from other people. But, these all can only happen by obtaining the item. Here's a list of the items and what they do : Meso Magnet - Lets your pet pick up mesos Item Pouch - Lets your pet pick up items Auto HP Potion Pouch - Lets your pet use HP for you Auto MP Potion Pouch - Lets your pet use MP pots for you Wing Boots - Lets your pet pick up items from afar Binoculars - Lets your pet move farther to pick up items Magic Scales - Lets your pet pick up other people's items that have been on the ground for 30 seconds or more. Item Ignore Pendant - Lets your pet ignore any item on that list. Evolution Pets : Dragons and Robots can evolve, (The ones that cost 12000 NX) and they are pretty amazing when they do. You need to buy the pet, get it to Level 15. Then, buy a rock of evolution and bring your pet to Garnox of NLC. He will ask you to get cold eye tails and lupin bananas (Not sure how many. If you can fill me in on this, thanks.) and once you bring them to him, he will evolve your pet. If you did not get the color you wanted, you can try again, but you need to buy the rock of evolution again and get the lupin bananas again. Pet Command Not Listed : At level 15, your pet has a command that doesn't give closeness, is not on the list, and is sorta fun to fool around with. That command is /pet. You type, /pet <text> and your pet will say "<text>". You can make your pet say anything... except for censored words. Very useful when in the free market because you can just spam it as fast as you can, there's no time limit for the pet words. FAQ [FAQ-1] Q : How expensive are pets? A : They can range from 4.9k to 12k, depending on the pet. Q : Is there any other way other than cash shop to obtain a pet? A : No, there is not. Though, who's to say Nexon might not have an event for them? Q : My pet isn't doing the command! What's going on? A : Your pet is most likely not high enough leveled to do the command. Q : Where is pet park? A : There's one in Henesys, and one in Ludibrium. The one in Henesys gives 2 closeness and the one in Ludibrium gives 4. Q : Why does my pet Dragon / Robot do motions randomly? A : This is the way they are. It's not a bug, or a glitch. Q : Why does this guide seem so disorganized? A : I'm still working on it. Q : What if I have a question that isn't on the FAQ? A : Post it. Or feel free to PM me. Q : Why are pets and their equips so exensive!? A : I don't even know this. Ask Nexon if you're really concerned... Q : How do I get pets such as Skunk, Orange Tiger, Porcupine, etc? A : ITCG codes. You can buy ITCG cards at Target. Refer to here for more information on ITCG. Q : Where do I buy the pet "skills"? A : The cash shop. The highest one is the Item Ignore Pendant, at 3000 NX. Though, the rest are under 2500 NX. If I missed anything, or got anything wrong, please notify me through posting or through PM. Enjoy! [Draft] Pets - All About Them - Corn - 2008-09-16 Pretty good ![]() Nice, simple, and straight to the point. I have a suggestion: about adding screenshots of the pets, or color code it? It'll brighten it up. [Draft] Pets - All About Them - blitzkrieg - 2008-09-16 I think it'd help to put the commands themselves in spoilers and take the table of contents out of the spoiler so it would be easier to navigate. [Draft] Pets - All About Them - Cyadd - 2008-09-16 If you already have the commands in a spoiler, why have them out of a spoiler? I also suggest adding bannedstory images of the pets along with their reactions to the commands, and making this thread in a outline format, with the pet type (i.e. bunnies) and then the pet color (i.e. pink bunny) and then having the spoilers for that, ya dig? [Draft] Pets - All About Them - KajitiSouls - 2008-09-16 Isn't there some sort of timer on pet commands to prevent spammers from spamming their way to high pet levels? It's like 3 seconds or something, I dunno... I read about this from a different guide, and it makes sense. [Draft] Pets - All About Them - Blankout - 2008-09-16 KajitiSouls Wrote:Isn't there some sort of timer on pet commands to prevent spammers from spamming their way to high pet levels? It's like 3 seconds or something, I dunno... I read about this from a different guide, and it makes sense. I think the closeness level has something to do with the pet command interval timers, like 1~10 is 30-60 secs, 10~20 is 15-30 secs, and 20~30 is under 15 secs. I've never gotten a pet that high, so I'm unsure on that. Good guide, but I think you should add pictures and maybe a descriptions of the pets. [Draft] Pets - All About Them - TheSmartGuy - 2008-09-16 Um, I don't think your spoilers are working. And personally, I would rather use Proton's guide. I know, it's outdated. But it's more in-depth too! Try adding recommendations for how to train each pet and a exp table. [Draft] Pets - All About Them - whybanme - 2008-09-16 IMO, it could be structured better as to not be just a vertical list. Also, you may want to add multipet effects, stuff about multipet, and the new skills for the robopets (talking on their own and /petcome) Also, the "change" command doesn't work for Red/Blue/Green/Yellow robo's EDIT: Put something in about pet equips in the CS and pet equip scrolls [Draft] Pets - All About Them - randompeep - 2008-09-16 Seeing the commands made me skip it completely, but did you, um, read the rules? [Draft] Pets - All About Them - 'Lexy - 2008-09-17 I don't know how you're going to lengthen this to 2000 words, seeing as the topic is so limiting... Researching pet commands/level exp doesn't take any more than half an hour, so don't try and make it look like you put a lot of effort into the guide by claiming that you've done it 'over the years.' If you really want to use that phrase, you can say that you've had many pets over the years, but stray away from making false claims. The bulk of the guide is simply one huge column of pet commands. NOT good for appearance, or for the overall content, since you can just get copy that information from the game/other people. There isn't much opinion in this guide, nor are there many tips/suggestions, which are what make a guide a guide in the first place. I am fully aware that you've said: Quote:This is a guide for anybody, really, that needs to know commands about their pet(s). ... This will include a lot of facts about pets....but that's not what constitutes a good guide. People don't need an entire guide dedicated to pet commands. They need a guide with tips on how to train a pet, suggestions for the usage of pets, etc. -- things they can't find by googling something and clicking on the first non-wikipedia link, things that aren't pure facts. I know this post has had many scathing comments, but I believe this guide needs a renovation. [Draft] Pets - All About Them - MapleCookie - 2008-09-17 Lexy]I dont know how you're going to lengthen this to 2000 words, seeing as the topic is so limiting... Answers in bold. Anyways, here I go... back to editing. [Draft] Pets - All About Them - KajitiSouls - 2008-09-17 randompeep Wrote:Seeing the commands made me skip it completely, but did you, um, read the rules? I tried to ctrl+f that thing, but it appears not to be in the guide o.O MapleCookie, read the rules fastly before your guide gets thrown into the trash! [Draft] Pets - All About Them - 'Lexy - 2008-09-17 MapleCookie Wrote:Answers in bold. You said this: Quote:It's not false. Pets did not all come out at one time, one date. Different pets came out at different times, and I have recorded these when the pets have came out.I'm just bashing you on your choice of words. If you say you "have done research on these commands and stuff over the years," it gives the impression that you worked dilligently for years on the subject, which is false. You just said you 'recorded' the pet commands, etc. when different pets came out, and that doesn't give the same feeling as 'over the years.' Rather, I get a mental picture of a person jotting down notes, simply '[recording]' something. I know it sounds cool to you, but it really irritates me because it makes your work feel like it was worked on for a long time, but when in reality, you spent simply 'half an hour' on it. [Draft] Pets - All About Them - Corn - 2008-09-17 Also include the pet jump quests (like how to do them), future pets, what evolving pets are like, /pet, etc. That'll fill up for some content, but your guide is still a little short. [Draft] Pets - All About Them - 'Lexy - 2008-09-20 It's looking a lot better. You could put [INFO-2], etc. in white text, so people could ctrl-f it, but it wouldn't be seen. [Draft] Pets - All About Them - ceejay2005 - 2009-01-08 One thing is that if you have a dog that has a "big dog bark" then they can scare away burglars. And remember I didn't say a big dog, I said a dog with a bark of a big dog. Like my dog, he is a Pomeranian [ he is really foo-foo] and he has bark that would scare away a burglar. _______ Suprise Dentists [Draft] Pets - All About Them - InTraining - 2009-01-08 someone necroed.. Anyhow, I have no idea if this is constantly being updated (crystal rudoulph, most versions, Toucan, BMS) but heres a few things you can add.. Under pet tips, you should add that being on a rope/ladder and giving commands to a pet will do the command normally minus the effect. Also, if you are going to power lvl your pet via boat or anywhere, its best to type the normal command ./guild, then hit Tab twice to get into the "whisper" chat. You are not whispering to anyone and you can chat to your pet without spaming up others chat boxes. Some thanksgiving event had an abysmally low chance of landing you a pet turkey. This turkey pet was activated after the end of the event, and it lasted for only 2 days, or so I was told. Just saying something about it xD [Draft] Pets - All About Them - Derimed - 2009-01-08 Something I found about pets that few people seem to know (or at least talk) about. When you do most actions, you become "winded," that is, breathing heavily for a short time. During that time you cannot equip items, etc. Of relevance to pets, while you're "winded," all commands you give to your pet are ignored. This seems to be the case with all pets. Therefore, there is no way to train your pet while in combat. I tried very hard and got this turkey, it was my first pet. At the time I was under the impression the event was the only way to get it, which I was not happy to learn turned out to be false. This turkey lasted for 30 days, not 2 or 90. |
