Idea for the archer legend... - TheThunderBandit - 2010-12-17 I came up with what I think is a great idea for the archer legend, lets call him... Ian(for pomegranates and giggles). He would be a bow user, seeing as how WH was a Xbow user. Ian's gimmick would be using elemental arrows. It would kinda be like white knights charges except with arrows(duh). They would get six charges thought out the first three jobs( two charges per advancement). The six charges would be: fire & holy in first job, ice & lighting in the 2nd job, and poison & darkness in 3rd job. in 4th job they would get a skill that would upgrade the charges(like charge mastery or something). These charges would be split into two groups, lets call them 1s & 2s. The number 1 charges would be holy, darkness, and lighting. The number 2 charges would be fire, ice, and poison. Whats the difference between the two types you ask? Number 1s are single monster hitters and number 2s are mob. The way this works it the number 1s would only effect single monster hits(Ala strafe, hurricane), and the number 2s would only effect mob skills(Ala iron arrow, arrow rain). Ian's would have a kinda of AoE skill where they would shoot an arrow in an ark and the area under that ark would be filled with a cloud of what ever element they had charged at the moment(Such as a poison cloud if you have poison charge on). The single target skills would be like strafe and what not. What do you guys think? Any questions? I also have ideas for the other legends if you guys wanna hear them. If you were to go with a Fire + Holy combo, I'd get the idea of "Purge the taint", so to me at least it would make sense for the class to have a misguided choice part way through that led them to darkness, but they realize this and change their ways. At the same time though, I do have trouble seeing status infliction elements in first job. Perhaps in making ice/lightning first job, you could give them only light elementalist traits to the point where the attacks are only at the level of "snow" rather than ice and therefore cannot freeze until that charge mastery you mentioned. If you were to go this far with elemental play, why not have drawbacks such as elemental weakness when using opposing elements to bring a bit of fairness to the Paladins out there. Perhaps tweak it similar to Aran in that all attacks are based off of the regular attacks, and have the only "skills" be made by the chosen element at the time. Add a cool-down to how often you can change charges, and you finally have a class that uses strategy. You'd have to play your defenses and offenses as the need arises and would be limited to your skill choice because of it. Perhaps have the primary 1v1 dmg skill in 4th job require a reasonable set-up and be stationary turret like structure that "absorbs" the area's elements and fires them in a stream. However, this attack would not actually be elemental, rather it would take the status effects from the element of the territory and apply them to the attack at a low chance. Element of the area would be based on appearance; IE early nath, ice; late nath, ice/darkness. The advantage of this could be that the status effect overides elemental defense against it. It could allow use on bosses, but would have to be limited in duration depending on how often it triggers and frozen would have to be like the Aran's freeze. Sorry to throw so many ideas into yours. It just came to me. EDIT @ Element Order: Of course, you could be going off the idea that the Legend himself started a Hero, but became a realist with age, and wound up following a path of darkness, which does break a little bit of the stereotype. This. Plus I made an idea quite a few times before regarding the name of "Artemis" as the legend name due to Greek mythology, just as Nexon has a habbit of using Mythologies in thier plots. Someone else said Apollo as well, sounds like good ideas for names if any. Of course seeing as how our current bowmen have elemental attribute skills Example: Wh's have a few fire based skills, Bowmasters have Inferno, and Marksmen are Ice based. It wouldn't suprise me if the Archer legend is Ice based either. Or to prevent any unoriginal conflicts between aran's ice abilities, the Archer legend would either be holy, lightning, or poisen based. |
