Er, I think I pulled something. - Khoi - 2010-12-17 I really can't tell. I haven't lifted regularly since forever. Basically, 2 days ago, I started lifting again, and I was using dumbbells and doing push-ups, if you had to ask. I do use proper form too, so my biceps are not moving as I lift (not supposed to anyways if you're doing it right). But yeah, since I haven't lifted in a year, not sure if this was the cause, but my left arm's been hurting like crazy. The biceps hurts, the JOINT in the middle hurts like a b`itch, so I can't even straight out my entire left arm to a 180 degrees angle. I have to keep it bent around 90-110 degrees for it to NOT hurt. My right arm is strangely fine, yet I lifted the same amount and everything on that arm too. I've had aches before, but that was just the biceps, and it went away after a day or so. This isn't even an ache, I mean, sh`it hurts. Any ideas? >: tl;dr version: Straightening out arm = hurts Keeping arm slightly bent = doesn't hurt as bad. Ok, thanks for clarifying that. Because I've had an experience very similar to this once, but my arms just ACHED. This time, I can't even straighten up my arm, that's why I was worried. Thanks! Er, I think I pulled something. - Justin - 2010-12-17 It's just your muscles tightening a bit from the strain. It's normal, and you'll feel fine after a day. If you stick to a schedule of lifting moderately every other day it'll stop being quite as intense and you'll feel fine after lifting. Just be sure to not over do it and let yourself rest when you need to. Er, I think I pulled something. - >Pineapple - 2010-12-17 Yep. It is normal. Happened to me after the first time I ever lifted. |
