Remember megaman X5 and X6 - Random_Overlord - 2010-12-16 Where a reploid named Dynamo appeared and screwed around with you in mid-boss fights but was really easy? Do you think he is related to Protoman in anyway? Looking through wiki I found some things about this character. "You can't retire me no matter how hard you try... I'll give you a little advice... You... Sigma... Everybody is always too hot when they fight. But not me. I am the coolest and wisest of all. If you can't understand, then I'll just have to show you. Come on and fight me!" ―Dynamo, ^ Obviouse reference to protoman's condition. Quote from his dialogue from the game. In the original Megaman series, Protoman was doomed to die from a faulty power core, that is until Dr. Wily took him in and turned him against Megaman. Afterwards though he turned neutral, to where he'd either fight, or help megaman. Although they look nothing alike, there really is no other background for Dynamo, and Protoman seems to be just like him in character if you know it or not. Both characters are necrophobic, they fear death in both game series. They seem to prefere to fight alone. They're really either helping Megaman or fighting him in both games. In a sense I do believe that Dynamo is based off of Protoman, just as Zero is based off of Bass, and Megaman being upgraded to X. Remember megaman X5 and X6 - MetaSeraphim - 2010-12-16 Zero was based off of Protoman for the most part, they might have thrown some Bass in, but Protoman was the main blueprint for Zero. As for your question. I don't think Dynamo was really based off of Protoman, he was more of a foil to both X and Zero by being different from them. He was like both Proto and Zero in the sense that he was more of a loner than anything. Remember megaman X5 and X6 - Rob - 2010-12-16 Zero being based off of Bass? Doesn't seem like it. X4 was the best among the PSX games though. Dynamo sucked ass and was merely a nuisance. Actualy, Zero was based off of Bass. In the Megaman Series collection for the gamecube there are unreleased Arcade games featuring a tag team system game with all the original bosses from megaman 1 ~ 8 .Some of the characters that could be chosen were Megaman, Protoman, Bass, and Duo In a cutscene after you beat one of the 3 game types it shows Bass getting into an arguement with Dr. Wily over his performance. But Dr.Wily told Bass he was easily replaceable as he was making Zero during the time with the same blueprints as Bass. Zero was created with an energy that Dr. Wily Invented called bassnium which was the most powerfull type of energy known in the plot so far. As well, Dr. Wily also possessed the Essence of the Enigma Virus which he obtained in Megaman 8 which he used to create many powerfull corrupted reploids, he also created Zero with this virus + bassnium in hopes to make the ultimate reploid. This is how Sigma became infected as in Megaman 4 there was a cutscene from where Sigma fought a berserked Zero that was under the influence of Dr.Wily's control. I own pretty much all the megaman games following the Original and X plot, so it's really just a matter of putting the pieces together. Also aside from my assumption of Dynamo being an upgraded Protoman, Protoman and Dynamo are the only reploids in both series to hold a significant value over life and choose to truely live freely rather than being tied to one faction. Remember megaman X5 and X6 - Phoenix Wright - 2010-12-16 I find it extremely hard to believe that Dynamo is based off Protoman, or any other Mega Man character for that matter. Besides, didn't the ending for Protoman in PF2 explain that he had some kind of energy imbalance problem that was going to kill him? Remember megaman X5 and X6 - -Ghost- - 2010-12-16 Based on Protoman, possibly as far as character design, but as far as story/plot I doubt it. I couldn't care less though since I know Protoman is awesome and Dynamo is just a jackass. Yes, but Dr. Light said "If he isn't fixed soon." For all we know Dr. Cain might have serverly upgraded him if or when he went offline. Before Dr.Cain developed reploids in the X era, he was an archaeologist who discovered the remains of many reploid battles in the original series. He found megaman and made a giant reploid culture made based on Megaman's design. In the quote that Dynamo said in the Megaman X games however, he mentioned" I am the coolest and wisest of all", boasting about his theoretical years of experience of fighting and being wise thus proving he has lived a very very long time. Remember megaman X5 and X6 - Phoenix Wright - 2010-12-16 Random_Overlord Wrote:Yes, but Dr. Light said "If he isn't fixed soon." a) iirc, Protoman refused treatment from Dr. Light. b) Where are you getting that he discovered robots other than X? c) That's Dynamo being an arrogant pimento. Even if it wasn't, a quote like that would be closer to supporting that he IS Protoman, instead of being based off him. Remember megaman X5 and X6 - Random_Overlord - 2010-12-16 Phoenix Wright Wrote:a) iirc, Protoman refused treatment from Dr. Light. Maybe, he could be, but while were on the same page of symbolism, when you defeat Dynamo in megaman X5/6 he makes a stance putting his hand onto where his powercore would be in his chest. Then usualy he makes a quote saying "No one has to die today." Then he runs off. Remember megaman X5 and X6 - Khoi - 2010-12-16 Zero looks a lot like Bass to me. I don't see anything Protoman related besides the color "red". Protoman's personality isn't like Zero's either. Also, the MM timeline -> MMX timeline, and even though the original MM =/= X, the fact that there's still various huge gaps between the series makes it hard to find any further actual evidence. Remember megaman X5 and X6 - Phoenix Wright - 2010-12-16 Just played through PF2 as Protoman. Dr. Light states that only he can fix Protoman, but Protoman refuses any kind of repair. @Random_Overlord: You're reading too much into it. You're saying Protoman drastically changed appearance, colour, personality, and all-around design, while surviving for ~100 years with a fatal problem with his energy core? Remember megaman X5 and X6 - Random_Overlord - 2010-12-16 Phoenix Wright Wrote:Just played through PF2 as Protoman. Dynamo is the only character in the X series that has no pre-plot, he has many character flaws as protoman as being arrogant, obsessed with not dying, and being indipendant while aware of his own flaws. He also serves as a mid boss in the alternate parts of the stages and challenges X/zero just as in the earlier megaman games where Protoman fights you in the middle of some stages, or tries to test to see if your worthy enough to continue. There have also been parts to where he encourages, or questions X/zero's motives, as Protoman does with Bass, and megaman in the original series. Looking on wiki, there are quotes by protoman in a sense that he cannot comprihend why he was born with weapons, but in order to keep living he must fight. Random_Overlord Wrote:Actualy, Zero was based off of Bass. Having the same creator =/= being based off of your previous creation. Being replaced by a new creation =/= being based off of your previous creation. Zero is different from Bass in every single way and doesn't even look like him, he is no way based off of Bass. As I said there might be some Bass in him, but he is not based off of Bass. Khoi Wrote:Zero looks a lot like Bass to me. No. Khoi Wrote:Protoman's personality isn't like Zero's either. Also, Meta, you know I'm right, no point in denying it further. <3 Remember megaman X5 and X6 - DarkPwnage - 2010-12-31 Next people are going to say X7 was a quality game and that the SNES ones are somehow not the best 3 of the series. Remember megaman X5 and X6 - Kevo - 2010-12-31 o_o X4 was way more enjoyable than X6. Played X6 only once and haven't touched it since whereas I replayed X4 many times. Hm, I don't remember much about Dynamo beside the fact he's like a mosquito that won't go away :x Remember megaman X5 and X6 - Random_Overlord - 2010-12-31 X 6 was still a tricky game to play none-the less, even though it sucked. X-4 had more quality to it, but sometimes you gotta wonder.... "WHAT AM I FIGHTING FOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOR!!!"
