Stupid question about potential item drops - Random_Overlord - 2010-12-15 When an item is unconfirmed, is it server sidedly masking the potential stats of the item or is it client sided? Example, in theory, if you picked an item up with 2 lines and it's potential stats when revealed would be +80w.def & + 8 int. However, if you didn't reveal the stats, dropped and picked the item back up, would the supposed stats be different than before? Meaning a new set of random stats for the potential would be different? Just something I thought up while grinding and found a few potential equips. Stupid question about potential item drops - SaptaZapta - 2010-12-15 The stats are set when the item gets "hidden potential", whether it's when dropped or when a potential scroll or cube are used. At least, that's what people who got their items rolled back to pre-revealed state say. My gf said the same thing. She had something pos drop potential, revealed, got rolled back, revealed it again, and it had the same stats. Don't think it makes a difference tho, since if dropping/picking up reset it, you could be going from bad to good or good to bad, no way to tell. Stupid question about potential item drops - Manu - 2010-12-15 I'm pretty sure this has been stated before, stats are decided when you use a glass on the item, and number of lines are decided the first time you use a glass on the item and it won't change. This came from the rollbacks, people would glass an item once for 3 lines, get rolled back and get 2. But are you sure those people didn't get rolled back to the point just before using the potential scroll as well? I had the same drop with hidden potential rolled back 2 times and on all three reveals winded up with the same potential. Yes, I found lvl 90 boots that came 3 lines from the floor, not scrolled, and after a roll back they were un-magnified and then they were 2 lines. |
