Why did you decide to max HH before Blast?

All I did was take out half the points I previously had in Holy Charge and slapped them into Divine Shield. Now I'm maxing Guardian, because Holy Charge is going to be pretty much useless for everything. Already have max Blast and 25 Stance.

>getting hh, hc, and blast over divine shield.

i'm stunned. are you just showing off your generally bad decision making or trying to trick people?

HH combined with Ice makes for a devastating field 1/1 attack. Combine that with 1 point in Rush (forgot to mention that) and ACB as well as Blast, you can create a very durable and quick and efficient field set-up and clearing attack. Useful in situations where mobs are plentiful but they have high HP as a countermeasure making normal attacks a bit time consuming.

Add in Combat Orders and level 32 HH makes for faster recharge and boosts the damage of ACB, Rush, and Blast as well.

The only thing I'm debating is whether to go for Maple Warrior or go for Power Stance. Both would be highly useful. Divine Shield might get added in but I'm still researching it's effectiveness over Maple Warrior 20. The extra ATT from DS is nice but MW raises my main stats by a percentage which might be better. I would go for MW30, but due to limitations of funding, I can't, yet. Plus DS has a cooldown before it can be recast.

As for 2-Handed... I just like 2-Hands range. It's just what I prefer. I've done 1-Handed with Shield but I don't care for it. It just feels like you have to be right next to the monster to get any hits.

Your 4th job skills have fixed range. o_o

Divine shield is a 10 point skill. with c/o on, it will be up a majority of the time making you not flinch and deal more damage. it's like an over 50% stance with an attack boost.

Divine warrior for 10 sp does more for your damage than 20 mw in my experience.

The problem with your philosophy about HH is that not many places like that exist anymore. Anything you can hit you can 1-2hit, or you should be able to...

Also, your damage is weird, how are your blasts strikes higher than your acb hits? I hit 72kish max with acb on mobs, but my blast only does 65k*3 or so, and it's maxed...

Even if your 2h user you still need to have Divine shield maxed. HH's only major use it at LHC where they have to take a many hits to kill. So HH should be maxed later on.

I think that's comparing crit Blast to non-crit ACB, since Blast has the 52% higher crit chance and all. I do a little more with non-crit ACBs (140k?) than I do with Crit Blast (130k) on elemental targets.

In practice, Divine Shield's up most of the time, because once I have it, I 1hko everything very reliably and I don't take damage.

1 hit? Maybe, but HH guarantees he will 2 hit the entire map once every 20 seconds. It gets a lot harder to 2hko without good potential once you start getting deeper into ToT.

the TS is still skipping DS. which is argueably priority right after maxed acb

HH is the worst ultimate in the game. It's like a Corsair maxing Air Strike before Cannon.

Seriously? I consider HH to be one of the best, though while ultimates will USUALLY OHKO regardless of HP because the base power is extremely high, HH has the benefit of being one of the few full screen attacks with a 20 second cooldown and it works through super def up.

Well, that's the problem. It can't kill. One thing I've discovered about training with a cooldown on my ultimate is that if I can't 1hko with my ultimate, it's pretty much not worth using at all. Most mobs you'll be training on are 2-4hkos with ACB. HH will barely save you any time and you still have to walk up to every mob you hit to finish it off.

You still have to finish them off but you'll still be shaving off time than if you didn't use it. o.o I feel like HH becomes more useful if it's a UA paladin though, since soul driver should compensate for having to finish off the mobs with it's range. Despite SD getting nerfed in range of course.

Not saying it's completely useless. Are you agreeing with the OP about maxing HH before DS/Blast/Stance?

Yeah i get you. It's not useless but it isn't as useful as other skills.

Yes. And DS/stance/blast in that order should be maxed afterwards. (i say blast last because he already has 19)

HH has never been designed to kill. For that reason it is one of the ONLY skills that can cut through damage reflect and physical/magic damage blocks. That's what makes it the best ultimate really. If you've ever gone to Pianus, Zakum, Scarlion, Targar, and other bosses that use either damage reflect or some other blocking skill you'll find HH is the only option you can use to perfectly cut through and do damage.

Which is exactly why you have Magic Crash. It prevents the enemy's buffs from taking effect. If the boss casts a cancel during that time, it is ignored and is thrown onto cooldown anyway. Causing a max of 1M damage every 20 seconds isn't enough to make up for all the damage you lose in between if you had just prevented the buff in the first place unless you are incredibly unfunded. Go take a whack at Pianus with Magic Crash. I was able to kill it rather quickly because Magic Crash prevented it from doing weapon cancel at least 60% of the time. When you're with another warrior (or two), Heaven's Hammer will be the last thing on your mind in a boss fight. Heaven's Hammer is only for bosses with lots of parts (Arm Phase of Zakum or Horntail in general) and when you have direct access to a large mob (not creating it with Rush). It's not nearly as much as a viable training method anymore.

So far what I'm doing for 4th job Paladin since resets... - Dusk - 2010-12-13

I don't understand why people think getting ONE attack in during a Weapon Cancel is a big deal.
