Potential/Adv Potential Scroll Success Rate and Outcome - Jellyflower - 2010-11-28 Ahh, I know it's misleading title but basically you all know that there's a certain chance to get 2 lines or 3 lines, to my feeling it's 20% 3-line and 80% 2-line, given that the scroll passes. 70% seems to give higher chance of 3 lines but it's most likely just small sampling. And I know the # lines are determined upon scrolling and not inherit to the item itself because rolled back items confirm it. I just want to ask if there are any function codes for those scrolls, you know how regular scrolls have %success rate and bonus coded to them, I was wondering if anything is listed under those scrolls' functionalities. I'm not here to discuss the rate, just wanted to know what's in the code or what's suggested there. Thanks~ Potential/Adv Potential Scroll Success Rate and Outcome - Locked - 2010-11-28 Scroll working and magnifying are two different things. They're not related. I am however testing out equips dropped from my noob account. I'm collecting hidden potential equipment, currently at 82 out of 100. I just figured it'd give a better idea of outcome. I had the impression that even with "hidden potential" the item has a specific number of lines, that's generated either when it drops or when you scroll it. I haven't had any items get rolled back to hidden-potential though. RE personal anecdote, I've had about that 20% 3 lines from drops. But using 90% scrolls, I've had better rates - my Paladin's gear went 3-lined on 5 of 10, if I recall correctly (cape, glove, top, bottom, weapon#2 are 3-lined - shoe#1, shoe#2, weapon#1, earring, belt are 2-lined) Aside from the weapon, which I don't recall perfectly, the rest were definitely 90% scrolled. Potential/Adv Potential Scroll Success Rate and Outcome - Jellyflower - 2010-11-29 I'm not asking about magnifying, I'm pretty sure the rank is predetermined prior to magnifying. 2 or 3 line aspect is determined when potential is given to the item (so whether you picked up from wild drops, or the moment you use a potential scroll on it). I just want to know what's coded in those scrolls, if source code or extraction is possible. Potential/Adv Potential Scroll Success Rate and Outcome - Lysia Voi - 2010-11-29 There is a miniscule chance to get a one-liner. One of my friends has a one-lined zhelm. This was proven during the mass rollbacks by items changing significantly. Yeah, that's what I meant, I guess I just worded it badly. But I'm curious as to what's coded to potential scrolls that's extractable, if anything. Potential/Adv Potential Scroll Success Rate and Outcome - Eos - 2010-11-29 Again. Nothing. It's. Entirely. Server. Side. So once an item is at the hidden potential stage, it is set (stats and such of potential are determined), regardless of whether it has been revealed or not. If they scrolled it for potential after a rollback, they would have different stats. However, once something has potential, it will not be different when revealed, regardless of when. I had three items I revealed before I was rolled back. All three items had the same potential both before and after the rollback (when they were revealed a second time). This, Jebus knows we have enough "my friend has this or that" claims to deal with as it is. Potential/Adv Potential Scroll Success Rate and Outcome - Goals - 2010-12-02 70%s do seem to give 3 lines more often than 90%s. A guildmate of mine 70%s all of his VIP drops from daily VPQ, and nearly always gets 3 line weapons. L> some proof. Potential/Adv Potential Scroll Success Rate and Outcome - MissingLink - 2010-12-02 Used 10 90%: 7 2-liners, 2 3-liners, 1 blow-up. (One of 3-liners was on Chaos ZakHelm) Used 1 70%: 3-liner (Was setup to make umpteen gloves until I got a 3-liner, very first one was.) This statement is true as I had the same item bonuses revealed 3 times during the rollbacks on an item with hidden potential. If that's true then why aren't you claiming that items inherently have number of potential slots determined upon drop? They are determined on gaining potential for the first time. For some items this is on drop, for some it is not. Items without hidden or revealed potential will not have a potential until a scroll is used on them. Items picked up with a hidden potential will always have that potential, revealed or not, until it is reset with a cube. Someone's gotta get lucky. So far my top/bottom/cape/glove/shield/weapon#2 and a VIP dagger have been 3 lined. |
