Need info regarding 4 classes post BB. - Adramelech - 2010-11-28

so I'm having a hard time deciding what character to stick to post bb, I quit my F/P because I found that I really dislike single hit attacks. ( that is to say an attack that hits only once, regardless of how much damage it does )

now then the classes I'm considering are - Dragon Knight , Hero , Dual Blade and BattleMage.

but I'd like to know what are the pros and cons of each post BB, DPS differences ( because I'm either gonna go overboard on funding or not at all, meaning that I want the biggest bang for my buck ( no pun intended ) ) (yes, I know that classes are more balanced but there is still a difference in damage )

regarding DK , is roar and sac usefull after BB?
regarding DB how is their survivability and hp growth compared to a DK
and regarding battle mages, how do they attack exactly, it looks similar to aran but in the skill tables I see that you have to actually press the skill for the finisher so how does that all work?

Also in terms of party play, witch of those would best benefit a party consisting of a MM and an Aran?

I'm all for DrK! Pre BB: Ok DPS, great mobber (if pole user), great survivability but conpromised because of Berserk mechanics. Post B: Great DPS, great mobber, godlike survivability. Sacrifice is beastly 1v1. Buster (old crusher) is good on 2-3 targets. Fury is great on 4-6 target. Blood gives a fat att boost and it stacks with Beholders Hex. Beholder can counter damage done to you according to your range. Roar is now an ultimate with cooldown, it wont stun you. I could go on, but I doubt you could be unhappy with a DrK, what it might lack in pure DPS it more than makes up for in versatility. Also the gameplay is very fun with rush and magnet (yes magnet has gone from poop to pwn!).
My wife was a Pure pole DrK pre BB so for her the change is more epic than for an old spear DrK, but regardless, it is massive. Our Tespia DrK crushed our Tespia NL by quite a bit, tho the NL class powerlevel grows more with godly gear than the DrK class.

Hope this helps!

F/P's after BB pretty becomes good, most of their attacks has became multi target like fire arrow, paralyze and a 6 hit big bang :3.

For a DrK, yes roar is quite useful sometimes as I was able to hit 100ks easily with it on Tespia with nearly clean equips, and Sacrifice is like what CarrionCrow said, it's beast and it would be even more beast if you have a bishop healing you, considering I was hitting on 90k~150k ish, and had about 23k hp at 200.

As for a DB, I wasn't able to get to 4th job on it because I wasn't able to get books on tespia ~_~, I had somewhat 6.2k hp at 200 due to the fact I don't have more equip nor a katara that gives me hp and I was still 3rd job + job advanced late.

Since there resistances weren't available on tespia, I wasn't able to test them.

As for being in a party with Aran and MM, I would say DrK because SE would boost DrK even more since crusher would be 4 hits with Zerk/Dark Force on. (Shown as Zerk on tespia o_o)

But, what I think is you should stick to a class that you think is fun instead. Big Grin

Heroes change in 3rd job from what they are pre BB, because they have Brandish, so they won't be playing around with combo finishers probably. In 4th job, things are generally the same. They still do their damage on mobs of 3 with Brave Slash. Training is different due to monster magnet most likely, in that it no longer sucks. In bossing, the main difference now is Enrage makes your attacks single-target for a 60% (probably 1.6 multiplier) damage boost.

The most affected by SE would be BaM,since they already have a critical skill and at 4th job,can hit six times.

to continue my line of inquiry, I'm wondering what weapon would be optimal for a Drk , Sky Skis , Bellum Spear , VIP spear or Crimson Arcglaive ?
the reason I put bellum there is because it has crit if that stacks with dragon wisdom then I think its worth considering.

Edit : Also , since my dk is 107 and i'll have all the key skills maxed, what would help me level to 120 faster - max Sac or Max roar first?

Keep in mind Bellum Spear is a durability item, so you have to use tablets to upgrade it. Since Spears and Polearms offer the same attack power, you'd always want to aim for the faster of the two first and then attack. Since you're throwing VIP into the mix, VIP items can get higher potential than any of the others listed. Both Arcglaive and Sky Skies are normal speed, so since Arcglaive has higher base attack, you could always go with that for a cheaper alternative to VIP weapons (remember the DEX requirement). Should you pick VIP, the spear is faster than the polearm.

On your second question, Roar has a cooldown. Just keep that in mind. I would say you wouldn't have to worry about either. Sacrifice is for bossing mainly because of the high PDRate bosses have (it ignores it). You're better off worrying about your weapon and using Crusher/Fury.
