1- Every player has been assigned a role, and at no time may a person reveal their role PM in it's entirety, in private or in public, unless they are in the mafia, and only to other mafia members.
2- The game rounds will cycle between day and night and will continue until one side is declared the winner.
3- The game will begin on Day 0, which shall last for 36 hours, and ALL PEOPLE PLAYING will be required to post during that time, (a simple "here" post will suffice) and all players will be required to post at least once per day.
4- All votes must be bolded. If you wish to remove a vote, unbold your previous vote. In the event that a vote ends in a tie, there will be no lynch for that day.
5- The option of "no-lynch" will be an acceptable form of voting during the day period and will result in no lynch that day period. whether it is prudent to do so or not is up to the players.
6- The IRC is limited strictly to the mafia, whom will be provided access to a channel for planning and discussion. Players are otherwise prohibited from discussing the game in the IRC.
7- Players may not communicate with each other privately about the game, unless they are mafia. If you are dead or not playing, a discussion thread will be made for you to post in. Also, if you are dead, you are not allowed to post in the gameplay thread.
8- Character/player alignment and priority will be kept secret until a player is killed, where their role and alignment will be revealed.
9- There are no items in this game.
10- If you have any questions about your role, or about the game, or have any comments/concerns, you may PM me or message me on the southperry IRC.
11- Do not impersonate other players or me, do not fake logs, do not take screenshots of the game, and do not discuss the game in private with another player unless you are mafia.
12- If anyone breaks any of these rules, that person will be killed by me.
[12:43]<Holypie> What happens in the case of a tie?
[12:43]<Holypie> I don't bolded votes as neccessary in your rules
[12:43]<Holypie> Also voting format or whether or nto to unbold votes
[12:43]<Holypie> Very vague for a lot of the rules
[12:43]<Holypie> What does #7 mean, can you elaborate?
#7- regards to role PM's. after the game's done i'll be posting a table with the chain of events, as well as each persons role.
also, thank you. i had forgotten the tie scenario. =I (why i opened this thread. knew there were still some kinks.) will amend the rules.
I'm going to assume common-sense vanilla Mafia rules, unless otherwise stated. With that done, I'll do a side-by-side comparison, since I didn't see an issue with previous mafia game rules.

Well... these are the rules i will be using, unless someone sees something missing. Tried to trim the fat from the past games and streamline the rules. (K.I.S.S. mindset (keep it simple stupid))
Greek Mafia Signups Wrote:Rules!
1. The game will cycle between Night and Day, beginning with Night 0. Only a few night actions will work on Night 0; this information is provided in the user's role PM.
2. Days and nights will last around 24 hours each, or until all actions are in / votes have been settled.
3. The details in role and result PMs may not be traded at any point in time. You may choose to reveal yourself as having received a PM, but may not expose exactly what is said in it, I.e. no copy-pasting.
4. If you don't want to use your Night Role, please send a PM to me with the title 'Night x - Idling' anyway. If you don’t have a night role, you should still pm, or post in the thread, so that I know you’re not idle. This at least shows you're paying attention to the game. If you don’t, and it continues for two straight days and nights, you will be godkilled. . . just giving out fair warning.
5. Lynch votes must be bolded. No Lynch is an acceptable vote. Please make sure that you unbold obsolete votes or I‘ll count the first vote rather than the new one. In the event that no one votes, or it comes to a tie, a random person will be godkilled for wasting a day.
6. Do not screenshot anything related to the game.
7. Do not talk about the game with or in front of living players while you are dead, unless allowed to by the host. You may still plan with your teammates if you're mafia, but only for the sake of planning strategies.
8. Do not impersonate other players or me. You may not fake logs, including logs with me.
9. If you have any questions about your role or the game please don't hesitate to contact me. Only way to contact me is through PM.
10. IRC discussion is acceptable, but is strictly for the mafia. Also, if that leads to you being lynched, it’s your own fault for not being smarter about it.
11. The game ends when any win condition is fulfilled.
12. There are XX players in this game.
13. Priorities are kept secret, but it‘ll really help if you‘re lucky.
14. The mafia faction may communicate privately amongst themselves at any time.
16. There is one, and only one, mafia faction, but there may or may not be neutral(s) as well.
17. I will not provide a list of roles, there are common roles and roles I made up in this mafia, this will hopefully lead to some fun.
18. You are not allowed to exchange any information outside of the gameplay thread (There are exceptions, like mafia), this includes PMs, IRC or the Mount Olympus thread.
19. If you break the rules you will be god-killed.
Issues: Red Flag.) Townies discuss their thoughts in-game in private. Aka mason groups for everyone! (irl Mafia doesn't have anything against whispering I think, but of course then you'd know they exchanged words if you're observant)
1.) Though I don't think it would be an issue this time, certain smartasses will attempt to SS stuff and say "I didn't say anything."
2.) People don't edit previously casted votes sufficiently to get it not counted. People who are actually playing the fking game and not just in lalala-shruggies mode won't fall into this trap, but I've seen enough stupidity and ignorance when organizing MS runs and US democracy itself, that I fear someone somewhere will make a mistake.
3.) Same problem as 2, but for the host instead. There's pretty much nothing distinguishing real votes from just casual talk, when looked at in a purely objective manner.
I'll let you tackle the what-if scenarios of voting, since that's already been made light of.

1) thought i included screenshots. x_X danku.
2&3) Iuno. I'm usually good at keeping up votes, so what i'll do is akin to what mafiascum does with their votes to show others if their votes were retracted or not.
Holypie Wrote:Probably a bad idea to reveal priority. 11 should be more specific, because it may be misinterpreted as "Mafia can communicate privately with anyone"
Priority is kept til game end. when a person dies, their role+alignment is revealed.
and that would be covered by #7 if it were worded right. x_X
see guys, this is why you ALWAYS get a peer review with any work.
If there are no other concerns I'm starting the game today sometime later. I'll be back in an hour or so, time enough to get some DUNKIN DONUTS DELICIOUS OM NOM NOM coffee coolatta.
