Black Friday Different this year than last? - Fenne - 2010-11-24

I remember last year, and the year prior, there were several blocks of items for sale, about every 6 hours or something, 2-3 times a day, from friday through the weekend. Plenty of CS equips, cash cards, ap resets, mush shops, tons of stuff.

Are we not having that this year? Are the only items for sale on black friday the 30% off we get through the event for cubes, pam's song, the sp resets, the perm tiget pet, and gach? (so far, the last milestone hasn't been released).

I thought they were doing the same thing as last year, with the items on sale in blocks, but also adding in the build your own 30% off items, but no schedule seems to have been released yet. So looks like its a drastically smaller black friday then?

30% off cubes, if not limited supply of purchase, would give them such amazing revenue. I can see it now.

Unfortunately, we don't know.

We weren't "supposed" to know the schedule last year or the one before, either. Our extractors got that from the client data.
This year there appears to be no info in the client data about this. Either Nexon moved it where we can't find it, or it's all on the server, or there will be a patch for this on Thanksgiving Day (i.e., right before Black Friday).
So, we don't know yet.
Hopefully when they unlock the last milestone, they will also tell us whether there are "new surprises every hour" (or every 6 hours, or w/e), or anything else they choose to reveal about the items on sale and the schedule.

@Locked: They're already getting their revenue from people stocking up on NX in preparation for buying craploads of cubes. Even if there are only 100 cubes offered for sale, gone within 0.2 seconds, Nexon still gets their money.

Bolded the important part. It seems as if the items 'unlocked' for Black Friday, while they probably will be the showcase items, are simply a bonus to the Black Friday sales we've gotten used to in years past.

Whereas I've got money in my Paypal account, but I'm not gonna charge it until the sale starts, and if I don't manage to get cubes with the first $10, then I won't be charging more NX at all. I use Paypal for Steam and stuff as well so it's not like the money has to go to Nexon (and Steam has way way better sales anyway)

If that first $10 does miss the cube sale, I'll just spend it on some permanent items I've had my eye on.

See, thats what I thought, but I hadn't seen a schedule or any other notification of what might be on sale so I wasn't quite sure.

This.

I hope lack of an schedule any where means that this year, there wont be a limited supply of items with discount on sale. It would be more smart that way In my opinion, as many more people would feel tempted to buy NX and take advantage of the offers. They can make it last just one day or a few hours, and it's not like it will have a big impact, if any, on sales after that.

A problem with Limited quantity of cubes i see is, they dont sell stacks of them, so you would have to spam click the buy buttom to get cubes one by one, and with so many people waiting for this very item you will be lucky if you get one cube. That'd cause massive ammounts of rage amount the players.

Technically if there is a limited supply and they do not tell us, they are breaking consumer protection laws.

I can smell a lawsuit now.

A limited amount of cubes could possibly be the worst thing they could do. That's what I have my eye one. I won't be charging until tomorrow. Between the Black Friday deal for cubes and the offer for buying with a credit card, I should be saving a lot of monies.

They will tell us... when the sale starts.

Just like all the other times random people on the internet have threaten or "smelled" lawsuits against nexon, how well did that work for them?
