Teleport Mastery - JoeTang - 2010-11-22 Been screwing around with this skill. It has a raw DPS of 500%/s maxed, unaffected by Booster. Spammed Teleport acts at about 600ms per cast. It does have rather pitiful range, but the stun helps make up for it, as well as the mobility. To compare:
For 3rd job, Teleport Mastery alone does more DPS than Explosion, out of the sheer slowness of Explosion, as well as Ice Strike; however, Elemental Composition and Thunder Spear can both out-damage it, unless there's disadvantages involved and Reset isn't mastered yet. The interesting thing is, though, that you can Telecast. Depending on the skill, the number of Teleports you can fit in between each cast can vary, but I've tested it to improve DPS for what I believe to be any skill. An odd issue for the skill is that the casts per second will desynch at a weird rate with standard 810ms skills. This does not occur for Explosion from my observations, such that you can effectively fit a Teleport inside an Explosion at no loss of time. For example, with Boostered Magic Claw, which is a standard 810ms spell like Paralyze, my results came out at about 1020ms, 690ms, 780ms, 1040ms, 720ms, 720ms. This was using Teleport concurrently, which came out at 690ms, 570ms, 600ms, 690ms, 600ms, 1260ms, 630ms, and the very first Claw and Teleport synchronized with each other. As you can see, Teleport's speed causes Magic Claw to come out at weird times, and this causes Teleport to end up with a skip somewhere. Generally, you can have two Teleports for each spell in a time of around 1200ms. This example gave me 7 Magic Claws and 8 Teleports in 5.04 seconds. Magic Claws are exactly interchangeable with Paralyze, so 1337.3%/s (no pun intended) raw damage. Paralyze alone does 861.1%/s. This ability not only does more damage, but it makes slower skills such as Poison Mist, and Elemental Composition slightly more useful because Teleport can be cast before the actual action delay is completed, letting the F/P perform more DoT while DPSing at the same time. In fact, you get 2.5 Teleports per Poison Mist, at no loss of cast time, which gives 586.7%/s un-Boostered. The same method should be applicable for Chain Lightning, but I don't have an I/L to test. A good estimation is at least 1 Teleport per attack, so you basically add 300% to your hit. Thus, Chain Lightning should go from 1072.5%/s to 1507.2%/s, possibly more. There is some lag in my recording of the skills as well as the game, so skills can vary up to +/- 60ms, but it does average out to what the standard values are. You're probably asking "But Joe, you want me to Teleport back and forth into a boss to DPS it?" You can Teleport straight up and move nowhere, while still attacking. What's everyone think about this? Teleport Mastery - KarStealer - 2010-11-22 I always knew that teleport mastery would become part of a mage's dps cycle, but actually seeing the numbers makes it more desirable. Once I make my I/L, I'll probably tele back and forward through maps spamming ice strike/ chain lightning/ ice demon/ thunder spear. Teleport Mastery - Manaphy - 2010-11-22 Teleport Mastery fits mage 3rd job skills very much personally tried in KMS Shining ray + Teleport mastery = ![]() Telecast makes sense with the presence of Teleport Mastery Teleport Mastery - Chilly - 2010-11-22 JoeTang Wrote:You're probably asking "But Joe, you want me to Teleport back and forth into a boss to DPS it?" This and the other threads in our sparce SP Magician section so adequately define what SP is as a whole: We may not be great in number but our sheer insightfulness, cleverness and attention to details is awe-inspiring. This was all crystallized by that comment that I quoted, so simple and obvious, yet bold in its implications. At an 80% stun for 4 seconds and more damage to boot, the I/L, (which is now clearly the L/I) can probably do away with the "I" all together other than for mob range. It would not be difficult, make Blizzard an electric storm (a la Evans), Thunder Demon and everything stun! ![]() Seriously though, what range can I most associate Teleport Mastery with, is it in the range of Thunder Bolt or since you do not have an L/I, perhaps one of those percent ranges that is often employed here would be more apt. My only concern relating to the above would be the physical attack of some bosses, especially those with Dispell. I am currently working on a minimum HP requirement for myself so range is at least slightly important, but I suppose Teleport's ability to evade could be used. With the discoveries of these and other (DoT) boosts to a magician's power along with our high magic (M.ATT) capabilities and multiple multipliers, I wonder where on the spectrum we now lie... Teleport Mastery - hadriel - 2010-11-22 Stun + stun + heal... nothing to say... How big is the AOE of Teleport Mastery? Hadriel Teleport Mastery - Dusk - 2010-11-22 How were you testing the cast speed? I don't notice any delay when I spam Paralyze + Teleport vs. regular Paralyze, as long as I Teleport immediately after using Paralyze. It's probably better to Teleport once per cast rather than trying to fit one in every 600 ms, to avoid weird synching issues. From this video, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jUPB-bXh2mw, it does seem to increase Paralyze's damage by more than 30%. Also, is teleport mastery affected by amp or is it the same for bishops and archmages? In that vein, tele-ing Bigfoot to death is incredibly silly... Teleport Mastery - JoeTang - 2010-11-22 Teleport Mastery is affected by Elemental Amplification, so it would end up doing 450% per hit. In my scenario, I managed to have a better DPS output by spamming it as fast as possible, and I included the worst case occurence of the desynch in my results as well. It's arguable which one is easier to perform though, as well as the individual lag of the user and situation to call for more or less Teleporting. Abysseon Wrote:From this video, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jUPB-bXh2mw, it does seem to increase Like I stated in the OP, my DPS would be going from 851%/s base to 1337%/s base, a 1.5x increase before Amp is considered. I did what he does except faster it appears. Teleport Mastery - Shidoshi - 2010-11-22 Seems like the mage is going to be the most intensive power-clicking class. Keep up-teleing while maintaining loads of DoT skills active with different cool downs. |
