Ya know, I grew up with pokemon, and I always loved it for a sense of adventure, exploring, training, just to achieve a sense of "legacy." Online pokemon metagame I believe ruined that. No longer do you make a team you love because "F-uck yeah Aragon is a thug". No you make pokemon teams based on so much in game strategy and training and breeding, it's lost its sparkle of any in game team. You beat the elite 4, the end, theres nothing left, and it has the same repetitive storyline. The same repetitive ending, lines, phrases what have you.
What if pokemon actually dumped all their fucking megatons of money into making the ultimate pokemon game. I mean really hauling ass with this one. I'm really writing this out of adranaline and too much caffeine but think about this. You start out the story line with being the child of Ash, yes, a new generation, but going by the roots. You start at kanto, and end whatever fucked up continent black and white starts. You go through every world, you go through all the events, every legendary, all the movies, hell you don't even get to capture the legendaries until every fucking appearance has been meant. (Dialga/Palkia for example). Even pokemon of that magnitude and importance probably will have a summoning rather than a catch.
The magnitude of this game should rival final fantasy, without all the online bull pomegranate. pineapple battling people online, live the genuine pokemon story from anime, too adding your own appeal to it. But the basic storyline sticking with the anime, including all the sub categories and pomegranate. And I mean actually starting with pikachu, pineapple lets let you start with any pokemon (besides legendaries). Of course the lowest form of evolution.
Now let's really jack this pomegranate up and doing it with cell shading, like budokai pomegranate.
Anyway, yah not probably the first one to think of this and I'll elaborate it later but hell post your idea's lets really see what the "Utlimate" pokemon game is! LOL.

What I think Pokemon should do is use competitive Pokemon for optional, unlockable E4 teams. This gives casual players a chance to strategize instead of using lv100s to plow through everything, and introduce them to the deeper side of Pokemon. Competitive Trainers also get pumped for it.
Though your story doesn't sound bad at all, I believe the reason Pokemon has the plots it has is it because of its main demographic. Nintendo wants it to appeal to kids as well as adults, so they make a storyline for kids and do mechanics/competitive changes for the serious Pokemon trainers.

Of course online battling is an option for competitive Pokemon. It's just that competitive battling has no way to reach the casual player, because they won't be looking for fights online.

The game has the perfect fit for an MMORPG scenario. I think online battling should have a smaller fraction of significance. Now I'm "discussing" this under the assumption the gameboy games will still be released, so this is a whole new spectrum in general.
And yeah nate, that kind of stuff. What if you joined Team rocket, make a subplot of actually playing with them.
Now to further elaborate!
I envision something of a mixture of Custom Robo's battle system, with Fable's freedom. Like, for example, in a legitimate battle (as in person to person challenge) it would switch to that type of game field. Now if you want to wreack havoc, lets do it mercenaries playground style with pokemon. Then like in fable, Officer jenny comes to kick your ass. But that type of enviorment would be Fable type of gameplay. That keeps battling condenced, and random fuckin around, really random fuckin around.

Having all of the regions in one game is a great idea! At least then it would be possible to catch all/ most of the Pokemon's without trading an insane # of times or buying other games so that you can complete one game.
I think for the next set of games it would be really good if they sped up the attack animations . You shouldn't need to turn off fight scenes in order to finish battles in a reasonable amount of time.

If the collection games was based on canon, i want yellow version's beginning :3 Yellow version was the shi't. And there should be an option on some continent to make pikachu either surfing or flying

MMO Pokemon would be epic.
Also, a thing I've wanted since I was younger and played Super Smash Bros. Melee is a SSB Pokemon... It would be a hell for the designers to make all the pokemon in there but it would be AWESOME.

In all fairness the entire thread was based off spur of the moment. I have many other specific ideas they should incorporate, however the thread wasn't getting much feedback so I didn't bother. If you're curious I'll gladly entertain you with some of my thoughts.
