How does it work out? I've been told to do all str by quite a few people, but I have a gut feeling to stick with the dex. Which is best, and why?

Post-BB warrior AP - Shidoshi - 2010-11-04

dex and accuracy have very little to do with how much you actually hit monsters. It's mostly about level difference.

Post-BB warrior AP - Solarboy - 2010-11-04

Since the new ACC system kinda kills the need for accuracy in most characters, I would recomend you keep it at at least 30 or 40.

The new acc capes and all are incredibly boosted, so you won't have problem with that.

Post-BB warrior AP - shouri - 2010-11-04

unless you need the dex for a weapon (ex: stoonetooth), dont bother. The WORST accuracy possible on a mob you can have is 85% hit rate. That's only if you match or exceed that monster's level though. If you're below that monster's level, more accuracy wont help anyways since being 20 levels below the monster is a guaranteed 0% hit rate.

The 85% hit rate I mentioned is on Chief Obliv Guards have some of the higher avoid (225) out of all the normal mobs.

If you manage to scrape together 100 accuracy your hitrate on them will go up to 95%. 225 accuracy will get you 100%.

With the accuracy boost of mastery (+60 accuracy) getting to 100 is not tough at all. The dex/acc you get from a zhelm will cover almost all of the rest to get to 100. HTP will get you even further. Honestly, it's not realy worth it to get any dex. If you REALLY want to though, scroll a zhelm with helm for acc scrolls and that'll be nearly everything you need.

tldr; dont bother with dex. 144 accuracy takes care of almost every single monster post BB. 225 accuracy is only needed for the toughest ones.

Obligatory

Post-BB warrior AP - Jamie_Kurosawa - 2010-11-05

I'm going to keep at least 120 DEX just to be on the safe side. Looks like my Ice Charge might become more handy that it has been.

...I hope that's not base dex.

Post-BB warrior AP - Stereo - 2010-11-05

Let's say 120 base dex is the only way you get accuracy, other than mastery.

so,
Just mastery, 4 dex 4 luk: 68 or so acc
120 dex 4 luk: 208 or so acc
And for some reason, you're tackling a monster that happens to require 196 acc.
The first player will have a 94% hit rate. The second will have a 100% hit rate.

In order for 6% extra hitrate to be worth losing 87 str, you would need 1450 str - without percent equips. The str cap is 999 so that's never going to happen.

In other words, you do better damage if you're dexless and miss sometimes, than if you're high dex and always hit.

Post-BB warrior AP - kremechoko - 2010-11-05

Putting dex post-BB for warriors are is beyond retarded. I've seen plenty of warriors in KMS who skipped out on putting dex and are doing great.

Post-BB warrior AP - iLbi - 2010-11-05

Not to mention the random line of potential that could end up with a chunk of Accuracy.

Post-BB warrior AP - Atuan - 2010-11-05

Warriors adding DEX post-big bang?
Nope.

If you're still scared about accuracy after Big Bang happens, new Ludi Capes have 200 ACC on them.
But really. You won't be needing it for most of the PvE.

Post-BB warrior AP - SaptaZapta - 2010-11-05

I wonder whether the stat "auto assign" will still try to give warriors 2 DEX per level?

I also wonder whether we will receive free AP resets with BB, same as SP reset.

I currently have 80 base DEX, and while I am reasonably happy with it right now (it means I can focus on STR/W.ATT/damage on my gear, without worrying about losing accuracy), I know it will be nothing but dead weight post BB. Damned if I'm going to pay over $200 to "fix" my character just because Nexon decides to revamp their game. Just one more reason to quit, come BB.

Post-BB warrior AP - Fiel - 2010-11-05

1. It's in the client, but the suggestion algorithm is complicated.

2. You won't.

3. Even though you have 80 DEX, at least DEX is worth more in damage than before. Also, you'll get additional avoid.

Post-BB warrior AP - Stereo - 2010-11-05

Fiel Wrote:3. Even though you have 80 DEX, at least DEX is worth more in damage than before. Also, you'll get additional avoid.

Don't think that's true in general - right now dex is about 1:2 to 1:3 depending on weapon (on average - it affects min proportionally more than max), the highest is 1:4.3 for 4th job DKs. After BB it'll be 1:4 for every class, so only the DrKs see a benefit.

SaptaZapta Wrote:I wonder whether the stat "auto assign" will still try to give warriors 2 DEX per level?

It does.

Post-BB warrior AP - Erich - 2010-11-05

Well, thanks guys. Even if it is JMST, eventually I will make an adventurer ( probably a DK) and I want to be able to recall form memory what I did. You know, treat it as more then a test of Big Bang, a test and practice run at a DK.

Post-BB warrior AP - Goggyfour - 2010-11-07

Nice design Nexon. Next revamp they should just make Int the main stat for warriors.

That'll teach those warriors to put AP into the wrong stat!
