Site Performance - Eos - 2010-11-03 Quick poll to see if anyone's noticing performance changes since the tweaking this morning. Only count the actual rendering of the page, not the time it takes to load images from other websites. If you're sure it's about the same (or worse), please report the browser you're using too. Site Performance - Sarah - 2010-11-03 I have noticed that page load times seem slower but I assumed it was just me. Site Performance - Zelkova - 2010-11-03 Would browser type account for any changes? Im using Chrome Beta and ive tried SP on Chrome Canary. Site Performance - Eos - 2010-11-03 Browsers may handle it differently, yes, depending on whether or not they support compression. Site Performance - ImagineAll - 2010-11-03 Not sure how you view mobile browser speeds, but I've noticed a drastic increase of rendering speed. Site Performance - IllegallySane - 2010-11-03 Feels faster, for me. Site Performance - Fiel - 2010-11-03 Don't feel a difference. Pingdom Tools reports that there are three images which don't resolve on the main page and that the Facebook prefix is obscenely large at 48KB. EDIT: I'm using Chrome, but I bet you already knew that. Site Performance - Eos - 2010-11-04 Fiel Wrote:Don't feel a difference. Unfortunately none of that is relevant to what just got done. Only the raw HTML would be rendering faster and anyones guess whether they're using a method that supports it in their parsing. I did pngcrush the oversized images though :p Site Performance - Jedward - 2010-11-04 No difference, as Fiel said. I'm using Chrome, so that may be it. Site Performance - MetaSeraphim - 2010-11-04 Not much different for me. Site Performance - Sarah - 2010-11-04 Firefox 3.1.62, just seems to be loading pages slower. Site Performance - Kalovale - 2010-11-04 SP always loads at top speed for me. Can't really tell if it's any faster. Site Performance - Eos - 2010-11-04 Examples of pages to test: Main forum page, any forum thread listing page Examples of pages NOT to try comparing: Any thread that will be full of people's signatures and random pictures
Site Performance - Five Second Pose - 2010-11-04 It's a bit faster, but not by much. Using Opera... whatever the latest version is. 10.something. Site Performance - Spaz - 2010-11-04 Let me guess, you're trying mod_pagespeed? If so, I'd be interested to know if there's an improvement. I think SP might be loading faster, but I'm really not sure. I'm pretty sure it's not slower. I'm using Firefox. Site Performance - Eos - 2010-11-04 Spaz Wrote:Let me guess, you're trying mod_pagespeed? If so, I'd be interested to know if there's an improvement. Nope. That was phase 2 but it rejected the version of apache. It decided 2.215 isn't 2.2 enough whatever that means. :f6: This is just mod_deflate having been turned on. It was enabled but never activated for some reason. It doesn't seem to be too noticeable for most since the pages aren't that big unless you set your thread count or your post display to the higher ends. Site Performance - Cancambo - 2010-11-04 I don't really notice a difference on my computer, but it seemed to load much faster on my phone. Site Performance - Rob - 2010-11-04 Cancambo Wrote:I don't really notice a difference on my computer, but it seemed to load much faster on my phone. Actually this. SP loads a bit faster on Opera Mini 4 here. Site Performance - Kurtle - 2010-11-04 Slower, and seems to gradually get slower as the days pass.. Mozilla Firefox 3.6.12 Site Performance - Jon - 2010-11-04 It does seem faster than a few days ago, but it still is kinda sluggish. Chrome. |
