Jobs to test out in JMST - larmie - 2010-10-30

This is more of a reverse Q&A: Do you have any unresolved questions (relating to JMS-exclusive content) about post-BB jobs? I know I can probably have them answered from the general JMS public next month but depending on the exp rate, I might be able to to try out every job (at least to level 120). Anything extractions didn't explain or some niche question that gnaws at your mind is fine.

Plus this is once in a lifetime to experience every Adventurer class. Any particular skills I should test out?

Disclaimer: This post assumes there will be an IP check for overseas traffic (as with KMST to prevent overloading). If there isn't, you can do it yourself. The exp rate would also likely be standard JMS rate (1.25x KMS exp table) because KMST tested the basics already and players may be encouraged to try out jobs in test servers instead of in the main servers. With the lack of funding and weapon/equip (and only two weeks), I'd only be able to test a few jobs if rates stay the same.

Can you successively jump cast dragon strike? Right now you have to use a different skill every other jump. When i wanted to test it in KMST it was too late...

Also, there wasn't an IP check in KMST...

I don't know if you're willing to do formula type stuff, but off the top of my head:

- Advanced Combo Attack: 5% damage per blue orb and 10% damage per pink orb, or actually 10% damage per orb?
- Advanced Combo Attack: applied after or before crit?
- Ignore target defense (for example with Combat Mastery): exact mechanics
- DoT stacking mechanics
- What passives affect summon damage?
- How is the damage that Dark Flare/Mana Reflection reflects calculated?
- What triggers Vengeance?
- Does Shadow Web still do damage? Does it still cancel when you attack the enemies?
- Shadow Meso formula

- Pickpocket drop formula
- Assassinate charging
- Ninja Ambush damage

These should be easy to test. If people can provide the relevant formulas to check for (and a short lesson on what they do) that would help. (i.e. "If you have x damage range and y enemy defense, you should get damage between a and b under one assumption and c and d under another." I could just keep spamming it until I get a value below the lower range of one or above the upper range of one; I'm no expert on damage formulas)

Some Corsair questions:

- Do any attacks have minimum range? Pre-BB, I'm only aware of hypnotize having minimum range.
- Does ice splitter cancel grenade's and flamethrowers DoT?
- Do Flamethrower and Grenade cancel the freeze effect of ice splitter?
- Can gaviota and octopus be macro'ed this time?
- Does octopus still work the same as before? (You or an enemy has to be very close to it for it to attack)
- Does bullseye ,or homing, affect octopus and gaviota?
- Do HB, HS, SE or the 'decent' forms of those cancel the lucky dice effects?
- Does a miss activate counter attack?
- Can Rapid Fire, BSC, BST be used in the air now?
- Can other skills then BSC, BST, Gaviota, Booster, Octopus, Flamethrower, Maple Warrior, Grenade and Ice Splitter be activated on the battleship? (Specifically curious to counter attack, lucky dice and awakening since I don't have awakening yet)
- Can Lucky Dice be activated in the air and can it be macro'ed?

I'm not sure which class to go with in JMST. I'm thinking maybe a Paladin. Does anyone have any questions for Paladin or any suggestions of a class for me to play for any testing? If you need in-depth testing needed, tell me what you need done and I can get it done for you.


Also, as far as I know, skills don't cancel out Lucky Dice's effect. It stacks with Holy Symbol and Hyper Body, so I'm sure it would stack with the potential system's buffs.

Ill throw some NL questions at ya then:

1. Ninja ambush. What kind of damage does it do per strike after BB? 1 point in in pre BB and it does a set amount of 2k damage or something, completely laughable. Potentially a nifty skill on bosses with huge amounts of HP if the damage is high enough.
2. Star expertise. It says the recharge effect wont work if you have shadow stars activated. If this is true the 100% crit rate on the following attack effect will never happen when you use shadow claw. Check how it works please.
3. Shadow web. Changed to 100% working rate at max compared to the old 80. What happens to the dot damage post BB? I take it it will not be based on mob HP anymore. Will the bind effect be broken when you hit the mob?
4. Shadow meso. As useless as ever or strong enough to be viable post BB? It would need to do hundreds of thousands of damage per hit to be interesting, if it operates by a similar formula as pre-BB.

-I doubt it, considering KMS doesn't have elemental weapons. They most likely wouldn't take them into consideration. I doubt Nexon Japan would make any alterations.

Also, even if JapanMS were to make these changes for Elemental staves/wands, it's not likely GMS would do the same. =/

-no sure if i can now but can we use Wind Shot and Wind Piercing jumping

It's not. They released the level 120 cap on the level-up NPC yesterday and I didn't see it in the mirror when I looked.
