Heavy grinding? HP/EXP ratios suck?

Grinding? Lolno

It's not an MMO like MapleStory. It's an MMO with towns and dungeons, pretty much. You have a set of dungeons within your level that you can complete with a variety of quests in the related towns to help boost your experience. The quests will get you very far in terms of leveling.

Potions are a PAIN. They only heal about 5% of your HP and have a 60 second cool down. The monsters are hard as hell to kill as well. A lot of them have super buffs like poison, burn, heavy (means you can't knock them up in the air), and other crap. Some monsters are even non-KB-able so they're coming at you and you can't stop them very easily. A lot of them also play as if a person is behind the screen controlling to. -.- It's hard as hell. The bosses have a damage reflect-like skill when you attack them randomly. Also, enemy attacks take priority over your own. If you're attacking a monster getting ready to attack, their attack won't be canceled, but they will damage you before you could damage them.

If that wasn't enough, the enviorment is always trying to kill you as well. Falling stalagtites, fire spewing from totems/the ground, machines trying to crush you, etc.

It's one of those MMOs that you have to go as much as you can without taking damage, but that's nearly impossible. Your score at the end of the dungeon depends on how high of a combo you get, how much damage you've taken, how much time it took you to get through the dungeon and the amount of technical points you accumulated.

It's very similar to Dungeon Fighter in terms of game setting and mechanics. I'd say the major differences would be in controls and game speed. I only got to level 10 or so before getting bored of playing a foreign MMO by myself, but it was incredibly easy up to that point, so I can't say too much about the higher levels.

The thing about potions is, you're not supposed to be taking constant damage like you do in MapleStory. You have to avoid getting hit. There are pickups that heal you, like in old arcade beat-em-ups, which should take care of your HP/TP needs for an entire dungeon.

It's a lot harder than DFO.

2nd Impact says hi. See that counter above the person's health? That's how many times he died clearing this dungeon on Practice Mode (exactly what it says, let's you practice a dungeon without spending anything), and it's only on Normal Mode. He's yet to try Hero's Road, which is the equivalent of Insane/Nightmare mode.

He's being poisoned to death REALLY fast and the monster boss hits like a truck. I don't think Sacred Counter's damage would be worth wasting time standing around.

Vindictus is pretty hard as well. I've only gotten to level 12 in the Closed Beta (I think the final level cap in the game is 200? I'm not sure about that), but without a constant partner or two going along with you, the dungeons are ridiculous. The level 11 dungeon boss (Kobold Chief) felt like fighting the devil himself with its appearance and how much it went after me (and completely ignored my friend >_>).

Still... Elsword is harder than Vindictus. :< The combo system in Elsword is pretty hard to get used to and is kind of annoying to use.

You probably Agro'd it, besides, it goes after the first attacker then after it kills you goes after the other.

That's not how it works. It just randomly picks someone to go after. If both people are running away, it'll start chasing someone and then go for the other. If someone were to hit it from behind while it's trying to attack someone else, the boss would aggro to the person attacking it.
