Petition for NO NEW CONTENT [explained inside] - Erebus - 2010-08-16

As posted by a user on the Nexon Forums

JubeiChan1 Wrote:Obviously the biggest issues we face in Maplestory fall on the deaf ears of Nexon until the community raises a fuss about it. Well, I feel now it's time to raise the biggest fuss of all time. Hell, let's make it an ultimatum...

=============================================

We the user's of MapleStory, hereby declare we do not want any new content, events, additions, or any changes to the game either big or small performed until the following list of demands are met...

1. All current undetected hacks must be patched and fixed, especially the D/C hack.

2. More official Game Masters and volunteer Leaf Brigadiers are hired or selected.

3. The developers must have a forum here at the Nexon website where users can ask questions and post problems directly to them.

4. We want sub-releases for the game client. This is basically small patches or hotfixes released on daily, weekly, or other small time randomized frames to fix or patch various bugs.

5. Fix the issues surrounding Windows Vista, Windows 7, and x64 based operating systems.

=============================================
If you support this measure, please do reply, but also... copy, paste, and send this to the ticket system for the support section of the website each and every day until they finally get the message. This fight to get rid of the D/C hack, and others like it, is NOT going to end up being swept under the rug like the 2009 Database hack was.

So... who wants to make their voice heard and make MapleStory a better place?

To sign up or to make/read suggestions to this petition go here.

If this is in the wrong place please move it. TYVM

"4. We want sub-releases for the game client. This is basically small patches or hotfixes released on daily, weekly, or other small time randomized frames to fix or patch various bugs."

Don't they already have weekly server checks for this?

Edit: Not to suggest that they ever fix anything with these server checks, but I'm pretty sure that they do have them.

I thought this would be stupid..but now!
Nah. I actually agree with this. Fix the bugs before they bother opening even more.

Petition for NO NEW CONTENT [explained inside] - street - 2010-08-16

1.Hacks are detected and patch hackers just find a way to make a new one.
2.Why do you want more GM? Its not like you participate in the corny events
3.The developers actually visit other forums to find out whats wrong, current issues that are still glitched in other versions got fixed in our version. I think gms the only client with pirates skill not glitched?
4.We already have these they are called SERVER CHECKS
5.Not everyone is having the windows vista problem, i play on windows 7 32 bit and i'm just fine

I came here expecting a detailed explanation and all i see is issues that are already known. What you have listed is not even enough for me to sign this ridiculous petition.

Petition for NO NEW CONTENT [explained inside] - Dusk - 2010-08-16

Why do 16-year-olds that don't understand how Nexon operates bother with this crap? There are plenty of ways Nexon can improve itself without "suspending content." That's suicide for an MMO.

Petition for NO NEW CONTENT [explained inside] - Stereo - 2010-08-16

The main thing I'd like is a publically acknowledged & tracked by Nexon bug forum, at least for things that are strictly harmful to players (Vista d/c glitches, NPC script mistakes, etc.) Some way of just telling that they know about the glitch and eventually following up if they fix it.

Petition for NO NEW CONTENT [explained inside] - Skylit - 2010-08-16

This is hillarious... back in 06-07 everyone was QQing about global not getting content...

Guess times change rofl

DC hack is pretty big. At least try and fix it for the time being instead of just not even achknowledging it.
2.Why do you want more GM? Its not like you participate in the corny events
Maybe he wants GMs that are actually helpful.
3.The developers actually visit other forums to find out whats wrong, current issues that are still glitched in other versions got fixed in our version. I think gms the only client with pirates skill not glitched?
Do you honestly believe this? There are so many things that people say on the forums, many of them are big problems and are not fixed. And it would be great to have something like what Stereo mentioned.
4.We already have these they are called SERVER CHECKS
5.Not everyone is having the windows vista problem, i play on windows 7 32 bit and i'm just fine
Okay, because you don't experience a problem, it's fine. Screw everyone else.

Answers in bold.

Petition for NO NEW CONTENT [explained inside] - Avoidant - 2010-08-16

I agree with this. Enjoying new content is impossible when the game freezes every 15 seconds and crashes every other time I change channels. On top of that, it's getting even harder to make money since botters in the Temple of Time have deflated the piece of time value. Meanwhile, just about every weapon scroll that isn't pink sells for absolutely nothing because of the Aran event, well scrolled equips are nothing compared to potential'd/50%'d equips, and on top of all of that, dropped equips sell for around one tenth of their original value despite pot costs remaining constant. Hell, all of this assumes that you can even find an FM spot without getting d/ced by some lazy merchant with the right tools, and that's pretty likely since the tools have been around for a while and Nexon hasn't done anything to fix them.
It's pretty hard to enjoy any part of this game when it just doesn't work. I'm all for this idea.

Ha yeah pretty much this.
I mean i know where he is coming from but, in my opinion, Nexon seems to do things to their own schedule. Pusing for "NO NEW CONTENT UNTIL" probably isn't going to work.

Pretty much this. Petitions like that represent a huge misunderstanding of how things work. The people who are designing content and the people who are responsible for fixing bugs or stopping hacks should not be overlapping groups at all.

I would settle for fixing win7. Its a serious flaw in their game. I get dc'ed all the time, and can't boss.

Will never happen, why do people think that will actally be seen and taken into consideration? Think as a company, would you rather try to slowly fix bugs and hacks while still releasing content to get more money? Or get little money to fix bugs and hacks jsut to make few of your customers happy?

again

That's very selfish. Just because you're okay, you think that's good enough. Most Zak/HT runners who use Vista/Windows 7, myself included (I use 64 bit), have this problem and not even lowering graphics and doing whatever else to prevent the game from crashing doesn't always work. This is something that's been needing to be fixed for a LONG while now. Sure, maybe Nexon already knows about this and is trying to get the issue fixed as we speak or they've been simply ignoring this altogether, who knows, but for you to basically say "Some of us are fine, this doesn't need to be fixed" is very self-centered.

Continuing on above, that's kind of like saying the holocaust didn't exist because you didn't experience it, and then saying "lololol dat sucks for j00" when you somewhat acknowledge it exists.

Petition for NO NEW CONTENT [explained inside] - Chuey - 2010-08-16

If there's a crash in content, I'd probably stop playing Maple until new content was added. I don't play much as of late since I can never find a Bigfoot or other heroes KS me, I'm finally advancing in OoT after years of being upset and eventually neutral with my N64 deleting my file, and the Aran hackers only reducing my already-small inspirations to train. I might not mind delay on content if all the DC hacks and Windows Vista/7 issues were solved since those seriously need to be repaired and have needed repairing, though the lag spikes are what irk me the most. But that's not priority, in my opinion, and those aforementioned issues should be fixed.

But really, petitions never work. At least with MapleStory. I really don't know why people even bother these days, it's amazingly NOT worth the effort.

That's not nearly the same thing....

OT: I don't see what this is planning to solve.. Yeah, who knows, it might make them fix a couple bugs. Then everyone who didn't sign this will just whine about there not being enough new content.

Petition for NO NEW CONTENT [explained inside] - Lozmaster - 2010-08-16

Good luck, you'll need it with an idea this batpomegranate insane idea.

(1) is impossible
(2) is pointless if (1) could even be achieved. It also would change almost nothing.
(3) is already mostly self handled by the community. There is little to no reason for the GMs to have more than fleeting contact with players, when any questions they would be asked could already be handled on southperry/sleepywood/basil or would be anwsered with "we can't tell you" or some variation of that. Plus, we already know the majority of people given "direct access" to nexon staff waste it asking "HOW I BE GMMMM!?!??!?!?!" or something similar. see-> tespia
(4) is the stupidest thing on this list. If nexon could fix every little problem on a whim, they would already do so.

(5)...Wait, is that a reasonable suggestion? Colour me surprised. Yes, this would be nice, but its not quite the end of the world that I can't zakum/ht/pb on my windows 7 computer(s), though it would be nice./

Petition for NO NEW CONTENT [explained inside] - MetaSeraphim - 2010-08-16

This is pretty lame honestly. It's not like they're going to stop releasing new content and fix the "problems" with MapleStory. There are more people who rather have new content then there are those who want "problems" fixed. And numbers speak louder than words.
