Getting router/internet connection to work with new computer. - CrimsonJohnny - 2010-08-14 I can be retarded with computers, so please bear with me ![]() So, got a new-ish (used but better than what I have) computer. Got it running and the OS installed; next question is how to get the internet connection started up. Router is plugged in, but can't seem to get any connection. I probably need to contact the ISP, but I wanted to know if any software/hardware issues could be causing this. The icon is not there; and when I went to Network Connections, it had nothing listed. I assume a router has to have more done to it than just be plugged in...
