This is purely speculation on a pattern I have noticed.
* It is easier to get Unique stats on higher level equips as opposed to lower level equips*
I have a very small sample size to really draw this conclusion from.
1)I know people who have made Reverse Weapons into unique fairly easy as well as reverse gloves and HTP. LVL 100 Stuff such as Neos Tops, Mage gloves, etc are commonly seen as uniques.
2) Second clue is my own experience. I essentially reached unique on a LVL 120 Sword and LVL 100 Top while never hitting unique on anything below 100.
So really what I'm looking for is more accounts from players who have mass cubed and might relate to this sort of pattern happening.
Note: I do understand some people may have "used 10 cubes and made a unique on a LVL 10 Sword" but like previously noted, there has to be a good sample size to draw a patterned conclusion.

I think people just don't bother to mass cube lower level equips, except maybe the level 50 staples (PAC, SCG, FS, maybe Zhelm).
If you're going to spend a lot of NX "perfecting" an item, might as well do it on something whose potential maximum is high.

I think we should stop speculating, as it won't lead to any practical result. Rather, let us compile a list of from->to-cubes, to find the probability first. If the list is not reliable with a good confidence-interval (the difference between lower leveled items vs. higher leveled items is great), then we need to rethink your theory. However, as of right now, I think of it as just reasonable: People who level up items prefer stronger items with higher level-bonuses. Besides, more high-leveled people train for longer, thus more drops will be at a higher level.

Almost everyone I know funds their cubing via MTS, as I think a majority of folks do at this point.

I actually went out to various stores and bought 500 dollars worth of cards mostly because the economy of both MTS and the FM are crashing massively thanks to 50% scrolls and thousands of people talking NX out of the MTS and spending it purely on the Cash Shop.
Anyway to the thread creator. Is it so hard to believe the potential system is nothing but a pure random chance system and there is no way you can get above the system by figuring out how it works?

I got over 1 million NX in MTS. All my Items are now Unique and YES i did not spent 1 Dollar for buying MTS NX.
Well i buy NX, but only for 2x cards and Pets on my Main chars but not on my FM / MTS Mules.
And when you know how the Economy works it is not hard to gain mesos / NX
