Starting a new character - Secun - 2010-08-02 Well, I used to play DFO a while back, but due to my old account getting Nexon'd, I never really started playing again. So I was thinking of returning, and playing a Slayer, but I'm not quite sure which sub-class I want to play, cause they all looked pretty frikken sweet. Could someone experienced with them give me an overview of the different sub-classes? Starting a new character - Dual - 2010-08-02 WM are a heavily weapon based class. They are incredibly good at PvP when used correctly, and would be considered mid tier for PvE. Most people have enough SP to master 2 weapons, so they can switch between them. Bludgeons do more bouncing and comboing, Zanbatos do high damage but are very slow, Lightsabers do weak damage but can electrocute and keep enemies away easily, Katanas are fast and have more magic strength, and Short Swords are a slightly more defensive version of a Katana. The most expensive weapons are Lightsaber and Zanbato, because every WM seems to use them. Berzerkers sacrifice HP in order to attack, and have a lot of skills that increase attack speed and strength, and are considered a more PvE friendly version of Blademaster. They are usually considered to be a late blooming class, since they don't get their main skill, Frenzy, until they reach level 35. They have fixed and percent skills, and most of their damage comes from just attacking with their x key. Most use Zanbatos, Katanas, or Bludgeons. Soul Benders use ghosts to deal area damage and help allies, and have percent based magic attacks.. Soul Benders usually gather a group of mobs and then place down circles like Bremen and Saya together. They are a very effective PvE class by means of stacking ghosts and using Phantasmal Slayer to kill entire rooms in one shot. One of the most evasive classes, but uses cloth, so it's a bad idea to get hit too much. Usually uses Katanas. Asuras are the other magical Slayer. They use mainly fixed damage skills, while having skills that increase their int. Many of their skills do high damage, but take a little charge time and have long cooldowns. They also use a large amount of MP if you keep spamming everything. Considered one of the more PvE oriented classes, but can easily kill people in PvP due to high damage. They use Plate Armor, so they have a lot of defense, and are slow. Usually use Katanas or Short Swords, depending on if you want to use more fixed or percent based skills, respectively. Would generally be considered the back support subclass of the Slayer. Also, a special note, Asuras have a secret Perfect Guard ability, which allows them to take no damage from a ranged attack if they Guard at the moment before they would be hit. Starting a new character - Secun - 2010-08-02 Ah, alright then. Since I don't really intend on PvPing, I'm probably going to go with Asura or Berserker. Thanks for the info. |
