Vista dcing - ProSoccerDk - 2010-07-31
I've been having problem with my computer where I have windows vista and nvidia graphics card where I just dc at bosses such as horntail, chaos zak, zak, etc
One of my friends said that nvidia graphic card dc's with vista for maple. Can anyone confirm this? Does anyone know a solution to this dcing problem?

Until we get the Vista/7 compatible client, the only solution I know for this is to change your graphic setting (in-game) down one level each time the boss summons, or if you're facing multiple bosses such as Scarlion + Targa, down one level each time a form dies. If you're already at the lowest setting, move the setting up one level then down again everytime you have to change settings.

Lol i tried switching when body summoned and I dced before I even got in
I guess switch before going in altar -> switch before summoned -> switch after summoned -> switch every arm and body dies or starts?

At Zak, alt tab before last arm dies, alt tab middle of 2nd body, and the transition between 2nd and 3rd body. I do alt tab but some other people do switching users.

Is that on top of changing graphics? because if i don't change graphics, i believe i'll just dc instantly

Anyways didn't work
Tried alt tabbing and it like went glitchy and kept alt tabbing on it's own and then dced

All you're doing with alt tab and stuff is refreshing your graphics. They all do the same thing.
@Vista/Win7 compatible client: I've heard of this more and more over the past couple of weeks. I see it's only for KMS atm, but it fixes pretty much all problems for bossing for win7/vista users? Is there any indication GMS will follow suit and give us one finally >.>?

Technically, couldn't Alt Tabbing be more dangerous than altering the graphic settings? I mean when you're lowering the graphics, you can see when you get it by an attack so you could press ESC, pot yourself, and try again, while as Alt Tabbing, you have to pray on others to keep you alive and hope they don't screw you over.
What I do is the Graphic lowering trick that Tikey explained. So far it has let me survive full Zak, Scar, and CWKPQ runs without crashing / DCing. Although I've never HT'd and a few friends said it doesn't quite work for HT as they DC almost instantaneously upon entering the Prelim heads.

Actually, it's more like :
Enter Altar : Change graphics
Zakum summons : Change graphics
Arm dies : Change graphics
Arm dies : Change graphics
Arm dies : Change graphics
Arm dies : Change graphics
Arm dies : Change graphics
Arm dies : Change graphics
Body dies : Change graphics
Body dies : Change Graphics
Zakum completely dies : Change graphics
I have to do that in JMS every time I go to Zakum or Horntail. It's pretty annoying, especially when the bosses have a high chance of casting 1/1, which puts you at high risk.
