I read a dual blade guide wrong and now have 19 double stab...meaning I can only save 12 points for 2nd job...how badly will this affect my character? (I already traded some items on which needed karma scissors. So I can't delete it unless I buy another 6k NX or hunt down the items again...)

There's two options:
Re-karma the items and start over properly or level knowing that you'll have a few less Avoid at the end of third job.
Really just depends on how much money and time you want to spend on it in a sense, but there's some significance in the build order. If you decide to continue, you'll have a rather low level Dark Sight until very later on.
Your continued build would be the same as planned except with less Dark Sight until you actually have spare points to spend in it again.

That wouldn't be until 4th job or until I spent some points I could have saved from a few guides I've read...and I know I need Dark Sight to get Advanced Dark Sight... D:

You can still max Dark Sight in Third Job, and Advanced Dark Sight isn't very necessary until you actually have Chains of Hell. There might be some gimmicky things that you can do with it, but I don't think it's something that can't be pushed back a few levels either. It's the lowest priority of the Third Job skills for a reason. In the end, you'd just have a little less Nimble Body than most.
I would say the biggest effect this has on a Dual Blade is the 20~30 when you're putting a bunch of points immediately into Mastery and Triple Stab, and any time you're Dark Sight + Walking. I generally don't see Dark Sighting around to be a very big concern. It's just something to use so you can change channels quick, or use a town scroll or whatnot. If that really bothers you, you can restart now, or plan to reset SP (which I believe would be significantly more expensive than re-Karmaing your gear).

don't you get free SP resets at level 30 from the event? I got the notice on my DB, but I made it from starting at level 30 anyway

They're 3rd Job resets. (I think)

it's 2nd job. not sure if the would work with the way DBs are though.
