Old vs. New - kingdj333 - 2010-07-19

It's been a while since I last posted on this website-. With Nexon finally doing checks & balances, and with new classes being released and all, I have developed this nostalgic feeling for the game. With that said I want to know the following:

Continue to use my level 85 hermit and get it to 120 OR Start over with a Dual Blader* (I always wanted to make a bandit but this version seems cooler.)

I haven't played Maple for a good 8 months so I feel lost in terms of economy, training, and builds. I've read some of stuff here on SP.net but things still seem to be sketchy.

Here's everything I got:
 Spoiler
This is all the stuff my hermit has. My question is should I continue to work on my old charater and finish or abandon it all and start fresh*?

seems like you have a decent amount of NX to afford both the books as well as the larma for your zakum helm, which is awesome.

However, I would wait till dual blades came out to test one out with okay/your equips just to see how the character plays, and if you enjoy it far more than the hermit, then fully transfer over all transferable stuff and sell all the not very useful stuff for monies to get daggers and such.

Hermits are one of the harder classes to level and are highly competitive (ie expensive gears), and Dual blade will drown you in a sea of identicals, so I wouldn't recommend either.

But for nostalgia, go with a new character

I'm completely aware of both situations, I'm just wondering which would seem better for me*. I just wanted to know if I should continue my hermit or pursuit my dreams as a shadower/dual blader.

Same situation here, but with 15x NL.
Getting quite bored of maple.
DB seems fun .. I loved my shadower.

I guess I'm a little biased, but I would recommend Bandits instead. While the skills are nowhere near as flashy, Bandits have much greater survivability. Bandits aren't by any means easy to train, mind you (at least until a decent level of Band of Thieves is achieved), but I do find Bandits more fun and engaging than playing an Assassin. Dual Blades are friggin' glass cannons so I probably won't main one.

Oh, and before anyone asks, I love trying out different job classes. Unfortunately I'm usually limited by funds and/or character slots.
