Apparently, everyone who's recently traded a lot of mesos (2bil+?) is now unable to exchange items outside the MTS and is now off-ranks. Nexon, just because we traded items worth over max mesos means you failed at putting a lid on inflation these past five years, not that we're buying mesos from hackers =/

I assume this might have something to do with the max meso exploit i've been hearing about (rumor?)

Well, I haven't recently bought anything over 2b or sold anything for 2b. Last thing I bought that is anywhere near 2b was priced at 1,999,999,999 if that counts (around 2 weeks ago). From other forums I've heard it's called the 'Hell Ban' or something where anyone who comes into contact with duped mesos gets this glitch.
My bishops account is perfectly fine, it's just my mules account that has this glitch. ):

I don't know if this is related, but if I stay in shop for a while (couple of days) the game will just close itself for some reason.

I see a possible pattern here:
Nexon makes White Scrolls pop out from Gachapon more often ---> A meso hack comes out ---> Gets patched, and players with illegal mesos get banned.
This time, an announcement is made and White Scrolls will pop out from all Gach, and then the Unscheduled Maintenance to fix the meso hack. Now we have this "banning" due to illegal mesos, for the second time now...
It looks like that maybe somebody out there does not want White Scrolls deflating and thus the meso hacks (Even though this time I did not notice any deflation with the White Scrolls, or it could be a coincidence/unrelated factor).

Sighh, this is annoying I had just bought my Mushroom permit too. >__> I highly hope they extend the expiration date on my items, I can easily prove all my major transactions of the day in my mushshop since I actually took screenshots of the 3-4 major items I sold.
And the last time this happened, people were banned for 1month and released with no further consequences. But gawd I'm so pissed, I knew I should have waited another week before buying my merchant.

Here is the thing the "innocent" have the duped mesos. What can nexon do? They tracked the duped mesos and they are trying to keep the users who farmed 2b+ on mule accounts from putting those mesos in to economy and gaining from it. This doesn't affect only the innocent their are people who exploited the meso hack and have billions of mesos stored away. This is the best way to deal with the problem.

im all for economic rollbacks but that would mean rolling back nx that people spent also and well, thats not good for the profits. And at this point things are so corrupted and inflated from years of nexon failing to handle economic hacks in the past, this is not that big of a deal. Make maplestory 2 an entirely seperate set of servers and start over and manage the duping situations is my suggestion.

So having 30+ accounts with max mesos on it is not that big of a deal? With a rollback it will affect EVERYONE, its only a small few that got affected and it can be handle in an isolated area which is whats happening now. Those that may have been in contact with duped mesos cant do anything with it until their banned is lifted. In the past their was only 1 meso exploit i can recall and they patched that quickly and give who ever had duped mesos a one month ban.
Stop going back in the past, what happened in the past really isn't have a huge impact right now. 15 att wg hammered that usually sell for around 300m in windia is now selling for 600m? I don't think past hacks had an effect on whats happening now. With the addition of vega scrolls att wg should be going down in price not going up. More 15+ att gloves on the market so the price should go down.
Also i don't see how making a new server is going to help anything, the hacks will just move to that server or should i say maple story. You cant run away from hacks

Uhhhhh... No. People are more inclined to cash out huge chunks of money when they have huger chunks in posession. Vega came only twice in history, I fail to see the impact that can have on the number of high attack Gloves. You can see people selling meso every day, wouldn't it be safe to assume that they have a steady supply? Doubling is a modest inflation given the past records of meso duping, I'd say Nexon did okay fixing those issues. False bans are still very unbecoming, though. First PB, now this. All my friends are going to end up getting raped just because they have anything to lose at all.

hm My bets are nexon blocked ( hell Banned) everyone that have max mesos/bought godly equips after the exploit was found/magically made tons of mesos, so now they can track how they made those mesos and ban the right people. I still remember when gm tiara contacted me, and they had records of all my equips before i got hacked, and how they could recover my account from that records, so nexon is probably checking how the people got the xxxx amount of mesos, and then gona do the massive banhammer.

These "soft-bans" are crap. It's not helping anyone play more fairly... it's just hitting people who are innocent.
And a bit off topic:
Nomad I really wish you would stop mentioning your case. There are probaby thousands of people
(myself included) who got a measly 10k maple points for our "continued patience". Having to read about
them giving you all of your stuff back really is like pouring salt in our wounds. Sorry not trying to gripe man,
it just brings back bad memories.

This just seems like a temporary solution until Nexon can find a better way to deal with the meso hackers. If Nexon wanted it to be permanent, they'll just have outright banned you guys.

Only stupid people are inclined to cash out more money for something that will be cheaper in a few days.
tao of harmony was selling for 50m before CWK came out. When more tao of harmony started coming in the price went down. Some people thought tao wouldn't get cheaper so they panicked and bought them super high which is happening with wg. People are not thinking before they buy.
Why would something that is starting to become common raise in price? Its the same way when new chairs come out they start off high then when more come out the price goes down.
With vega scrolls their are more 14+ att wg being scrolled so they are on the market now. Its easier to make wg higher than 10+ now so the price for wg would go down not up. When gach boxes came out and it was spitting out pacs like nothing the price for clean pac's went down. The same for gen 30/mw 20/tt 30 etc. Now explain to me why the prices of those items went down instead of going up? Their is more so people should have been buying them at ridiculous prices, instead people waited for the price to go down.

So basically, this is what off-ranked accounts can and can't do:
Can't: Drop, trade, set up a shop, buy things from other shops, use duey at all
Can: Loot others' drops, MTS, edit an existing shop (only a few more hours to possibly do this), use storage, buy and sell from NPCs
Dunno if wedding gifts work, although that would be seriously desperate. Is there any other possible way to trade items between characters?

Not related - my shops stay up for a week at a time usually with no problems at least since all the script kiddies had their dc hack patched.
